According to the official LFC website he's been given both goals. :)

goal, it was going in, and it was a failed attempt by the keeper to save it, should be a goal.

Exactly, the goalkeeper never redirected the ball into the net, so therefore should be credited with a goal. As long as the shot is goal-bound -ogs should never be considered .

It was a O.G so why do we need a Poll for it  ???

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

How many times has Lampard scored from a deflected shot? All of his are credited as goals but Crouch's isn't

It's all b*llocks. If Crouch doesn't get that goal, then almost every goal scored will HAVE to be credited as an OG?
How many shots go into the net without the ball even scintching the 'keeper? ???

They'll be crediting OG's when a defender farts next.  :no  :no

i have written this elsewhere but here is the official line so far as i can tell:

at present officially it has not been decided if it was a goal or og. the press association have given their interpretation but this means nothing. the goal was paid ou by bookmakers as he also scored the second goal. (we would have paid out on hi anyways as is good publicity)

now i think it should stand. how can it be a goalie own goal? would this mean every time a keeper touches the ball its an own goal? exactly. 2 for crouch
