Not at all.  I wish the official goal panel and the Premier League would give it to Crouch, I just didn't like the way redsince2001 put that post, as if to lynch me and CGGY because we actually dared to think that it wasn't his goal.

I see there are three of us now anyway who have voted own goal.  Say what you see guys.

I don't know how you can consider an own goal.  Looking objectively, if the striker hits the ball on target with the express intention of scoring a goal and the keeper fluffs it, so what?!  Credit where it's due, the striker did enough to get it past the opponents and into the net.  I can't believe anyone could think the keeper did more to cause it to go in than the striker did.

How obvious does it need to be?

Its Crouch's goal... other wise every time a goalbound shot goes under the keeper or through his legs and touches him in any way that's got to be an OG as well.  The acid test has to be - was the ball goalbound before the opposing player touched it? In this case it was - and that applies to both deflections incase anyone is basing their argument on DeZeeuw's intial deflection.

well, as far as im concerned it was a crouch goal.

This is why. the goalkeepers touch is irrelavant as the ball was clearly going in anyway. The only way it could be an own goal (to the player it deflected off) is if the ball was clearly not on target and was clearly going 10-15 meters wide. if it had of been  given an own goal for the defender then half of spank lampards goals this season that werent from penalties would have to be change to own goals and every time a keeper gets his hand to a shot and it still goes in, they would have to be own goals to.
