As much as I hate Chelshite I have to vote for Duff. At the time the transfer was made I thought it was way over-priced but having seen the way he's played this far and, more tellingly, how they've lacked creativity in his absence, in time he'll be viewed as a snip.....

I take into account price when considering the "best transfer". Duff and Saha are good players but cost a lot more than Kewell who is IMO as good as, if not better, than both

Duff is a far more consistent player than harry or saha.He produces the same level of performance week in week out and has done so for years.He is the ultimate professional.Unfortunately,we have a blind man for a manager and that is why we missed out on a world class player who is a lifelong liverpool supporter.

No, I dont think ranieri would spend 17 million on a player just because he`s Irish.

Ranieri is throwing money at players, a bit like Leeds without the massive risk. I don't believe Duff is worth much more than £10m-£12m, but Chelsea had to offer £17m to Blackburn in order to get him. I don't believe Parker is worth £10m yet Chelsea are going to spend that on him. IMO he is worth maybe £7m tops, few midfielders are worth £10m+

Kewell was the best value for money. his form this season (while eratic at times) has already shown he is worth more than that

Harry Kewell - proven quality player at Leeds and has netted 9 goals in 29 appearances this season already for Liverpool. £5m for a five star player is good business

Adrian Mutu - form player, can't remember the last quality striker Romania had but I wouldn't want Mutu. Scored lots at the start of the season and then faded away

Damien Duff - arguably the best player in the poll, but cost a lot at £17m. Makes Kewell at £5m look an absolute bargain

Cristiano Ronaldo - the stepover king with little end product and a tendancy to dive. Looks a decent prospect but well expensive at £12m

Joe Cole - good player if given the chance. Chelski obviously don't rate him that highly, they were prepared to offload him to get Parker

Antony Le Tallec - done nothing to merit inclusion in this poll

for the money we paid kewell is the best buy, look at the goals scored bewteen all of them and kewell is winning. He joined us ahead of other teams willing to pay more so that shows high commitment. hes young, fast and scares defenders, whats not to like?

for the money paid the best but was either kewell or nobby solano. notice toon's demise and villa's rise since they sold him. it's no coincidence.

I would have said Kewell at the begining of last season, but it has to be Ronaldo.

I agree with Pig Catcher, if i had reseponded when the poll strted I would have said Kewell, but for me it has to be Ronaldo.
