This should be a good one. Maybe will see Sturridge and Wijnaldum.

Might try and stay up for this one myself, knowing me though I'll probably conk out about 10 minutes before kick off and then wake up just as the final whistle blows.

0-0 HT

Had the better of possession but didn't really create any clear chances.
Mané should've scored.
Positives- Mané does provide an attacking threat on the right and is creating an understanding with Studge. I can see him getting a lot of assists this season.

2-0 FT

2nd half goals from Origi and Firmino.

2nd half we played much better, created better opportunities and ripped apart Milan at times.
Origi should have had a double his 2nd goal was a poor decision.
Klopp will have a headache as to who will be his main striker. Studge is a goal machine but Origi has the ability to stretch apart the opposition with his pace.
Shay Ojo had a good game. His pace reminds me of Mané.
Markovic looks poor, his been dire so far in preseason.
Overall good workout for the lads.

I thought it was a very straight forward victory, our passing was neat and tidy, Firmino, Origi and especially Ojo all very lively

The new guys all fitting in well

But the pace on Ojo is incredible, please don't loan this kid out

I agree Ojo has got some amazing pace. We should use him in the last 20 mins when teams tire out.
His passing is not bad aswel.

Some extended highlights for those who didn't or couldn't stay up for the match (watch the video quick before the footage is removed)

Thought we played quite well myself although admittedly for an hour we really struggled to break them down, we got into some good positions but our final ball/cross let us down. We really need to work on being more clinical in the final third.

That new shirt looks sexy as hell by the way. We look like we can really stretch play with the new players we have... I think we lacked that in the europa league final where our build up play was so slow and predictable in the middle. I think Origi could play either side of Sturridge in the 3 aswell, he has good movement and he took his goal really well cutting in from wide.

Second half performance was the better of the two ,Origi looks like he's ready to lead the line and took his goal brilliantly . Markovic was involved in most of what was good about our link up play in that half ,specifically, one run when I actually thought the video had gone on to fast forward he was that quick ,and his ball to Ojo for the Firmino goal ,and cushioned deft little pass to Origi for the wrongly disallowed goal .

Klavan looks really comfortable at the back and will be a quality addition ,Firmino needs to stop gifting the opposition the ball in such dangerous positions ,as the quality in the Prem will be less forgiving ,and we simply can't start the season with Moreno ,and Ojo will be a devastating impact sub. Other than those observations I think Jurgen has work to do with the team that started the game to get them playing as a team ,I mean Coutinho ,Mane ,Sturridge ,and Wjinaldum is a quality attack and they played like veritable strangers.

Klavan = Stephan Henchoz

Interesting to see Wijnaldum paired with Henderson in centre midfield, obviously that position for him is in Klopps thoughts.

Origi looked in very good form and hopefully Ojo can make a bigger contribution this season, looks very quick when he gets moving.

FFS thought this was supposed to be today?!

Missed yet another friendly, didn't watch a single one this summer. We looked good in the highlights though.
