Liverpool's penalty shoot-out hero in Istanbul has called time on his playing career, playing his final game last night, as Real Madrid beat Almeria 8-1.
Will go down in history for his saves and the penalty shoot out antics in 2005.
certainly has his place in Liverpool folklore - all the best Jerzey, YNWA
2 league starts in 4 years is pish tho, wish he stayed as our second keeper, would have at least had some cup games
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

God Bless You All
He must have had some regrets though Real Madrid must have been an obvious attraction. Not easy being a back up keeper, he could have been first choice elsewhere.
Just read on lfc.tv: Jerzy Dudek's incredible save from Andriy Schevchenko in Istanbul has been voted the greatest Champions League moment of all time!
You just knew from that moment that the cup was ours. It may have been instinctive from Dudek or just downright scrawpy but the gods had certainly decided by then that one way or the other that number 5 was heading back to anfield.
During his prime Jerzy was an exceptional keeper... I don't agree with people saying he got nothing on Pepe. During his prime he was one of the best in the EPL. athletic with good jumping ability and reflexes... To me he was really under-rated by some of the fans. Pepe is mr reliable and but Jerzy was more athletic and stronger in the air and also capable of jaw dropping saves... unfortunately in 2004 he did alot of mistakes only making up for it during the CL final. Rafa didn't have a good impression of his ability... Better than James IMO and only surpassed by Pepe in the modern Liverpool era...
