You're speculating on his feelings and life. I'm not on about that, i'm on about his ability. I doubt he would lack motivation if someone said you have a chance to play for LFC again... The balls in your court!

yeah exactly, if he came back he would deffo havethe hunger for it all again.

Stu, i'm not getting into another slagging match.  Even you agree Fowler isn't the player he was, most agree his motivation isn't there either.  I personally feel he lacks the ability to be a class striker anymore.  You can disagree, but you know as well as i do, that he will never recapture his old form.

in fowlers case i think he would be sort of how carra is on the team. fowler nowadays is not a world class striker. as in stu's topic about carragher, fowler  in liverpool would play better than in any other team even if he is no longer world class. that is if his love for the team is still as strong as he says it is.

would he be the best option for a striker? probably not.
will he return to liverpool? doubt it.
would he play better for liverpool than for any other team? I sure think he would.

you're right, he is not comming back but this thread isn't really about if he is comming back anymore, its more about if he is still a good player.

I'd have put this in the rumour thread, but it's not there, so here will have to do...

It's been reported all over the place today that Rick Parry scotched talk that there had been a move made to bring Robbie back on loan.

From what I'm hearing, this was completely true.

If you ask Rick Parry tomorrow morning however, he may have to give you a different answer.

Pongolle to City on loan til the end of the season, Fowler coming the other way for the same period.
Pongolle will be back with us come summer, and Fowler will be available on a free if he impresses.

Cisse to Lyon on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy in summer, AN Other in at LFC before the window closes.

All this from a journo mate I used to work with. Nothing in stone yet, as LFC want to sign Cisse's replacement before anything goes ahead. Not a clue how close we are to doing that, or of any names being mooted.

I've also been given the name of a right winger we're about to put an offer in on, but I can't give more on that until the weekend as the guy has a vested interest in the info staying under wraps. If something comes of the offer, it'll please some and disappoint others, is all I'll say. Am guessing our offer will have to improve anyway.

It's not Simao, if that helps, but it is a name that quite a few people have mentioned.

Other than that, I'm shtum.

I don't particularly like guessing games, no. And no, I'm giving no specific info about the guy.

I'm not even particularly happy with the guy we're putting the offer on, but nor do I think the money we're apparently going to offer is going to prise him away from his current employers.

Basically, if you read on Sunday about a club laughing away an offer we've made for their right winger, you'll be able to make up your own mind.

Well I hope you're right, Ivor. Fowler coming back would make us a damn sight stronger upfront.

I feel we are seeing the Summer all over again, whereby we leave everything until the last minute then end up running out of time.

Who's dumb idea was it to have a transfer window?
