I watched the youtube video but never seen him in a match

he's not prolific - he's only netted 6 goals this season - but looks promising. Can play striker or wide forward and has lots of pace.

Both Real and Athletico are reported to be after him. For £15m - his release clause - he seems like he's worth a punt.

Knowing us it's probably true.
We already have a squad that's jam packed with average prem players and I just don't see the point in bringing in even more.
To improve we need to add players that are better than the ones already at the club and I just don't think Long falls into that category.

What is not a rumour but fact is that Inaki Williams has signed a new deal at Bilbao, so certainly won't be coming here

The funniest one though is the Daily Star reporting JK wants Jamie Vardy, the headline is Liverpool are prepared to pay £25m for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, 29, this summer.     

Final one is JK is still after Gundogan and will try for him in this window, in the Express

Jamie Vardy will actually be a good fit for geggen pressing mate. He runs non stop. He's like a more lethal version of Dirk Kuyt.

Oh how the mighty have fallen, if the likes of Caulker and Long are now the height of our ambition then our transition into a mid table team is pretty much complete. They are the type of players a QPR or Bournemouth would sign, not the 5 times champions of Europe. No wonder the likes of Suarez and Sterling wanted to bale out.

Very little activity at the club from those involved with transfers.

Very unlikely we’ll make any significant signings in this window, if any at all. Only injuries or an approach from an agent for a player we thought was unattainable would change this.

No targets identified by the manager to bring in this window.

Club monitoring the situation of a number of young players that wouldn’t cost too much (Gomez, Ilori, etc) who have been on radar of the recruitment team for several years. Could possibly move for one or more of these if we thought a favourable deal looks possible.

This is still the position. We reacted to all the CB injuries by brining in Caulker until the end of the season as an extra body but we are not actively trying to fill any position in January. Unless we're made aware of a great opportunity to get a player under the noses of other clubs we won't be doing much or anything else.

Shane Long rumours are probably just his agent trying to drum up interest. He isn't getting much game time at Southampton so he probably wants out. Maybe there are injuries to our strikers that we don't know about and we fancy another loan until the end of the season to give us an extra body but I doubt it.
