There are 5 clubs fighting for two CL places. Take your pick who has the more difficult run in from here, I don't think ours looks so bad. Spurs play City in their last game!

Good thread this Reg

But i don't think City are a nailed on conclusion for top 4th on current form

They are in the mix with us and the 4 other teams

They did this on the Sky website, they reckon we have the toughest run in, the way they have worked it out is based on points gained from previous games with those remaining. This is a flawed view as it doesnt take into account current form but looks at it from the beginning of the season when we had many poor results.

With respect to Sky this isn't based on science it's based on the will to win!

Soton and Spurs 'should' fall away as they lose their nerve, United may shake losing so many experienced players whereas Liverpool and Arsenal will should go the distance based on determination to overpower opposition.

City will fight it out with Chelsea - those two are in danger of causing a split within the EPL, a top tier with a second tier of wannabes including LFC which would be very damaging if allowed to happen.

Our difficult period is March, after that we have to swipe aside the kind of teams who caused Rafa's team to drop points. Who will be the hero from today through to the end of the season???  Put my money on Lalana and Can leading the lads to be honest.

Game on for a very exciting finish!

After we play Manure and Arsenal we have only chelsea to face in our last 7 games and if we can keep our form going there is no reason why we cannot be in pole position for 4th.

We have been on a good turn of results of late and have amassed a bit of a run, It will be a tall order asking the squad to retain that form till may but I am hoping by the time those last 7 games come around we will be ready to close it out.

The potential Banana Skins I see are the Back to back games against so'ton/city and Manure/arsenal. If we lose half of them then I fear the pressure will really be on to take at least 18 points from those last 7 with no room for error.

Spuds and Southampton will not be in the top 4...however, it's going to be a tight finish between us, Arsenal and Manure.

For me, the next two games are vital.  Victory over Southampton and a draw with Man City would leave us in a healthy position to push on. Although I dare say we could beat City too, if they continue their inconsistent run of form.

This is already happening and looks nailed on to continue.  The eventual outcome will be that the PL becomes like La Liga with 2 wins battling for the title and a bunch of other teams scrambling for the other 2 places.  As a result, top players will constantly leave the clubs that are scrambling for 3rd / 4th each year.  Sad but true.

As for the run in, we've got it really tough.  Negative results in our next 2 will kill our momentum.  4 points would be good and keep us in there. 6 points would really send a message.

As always... i will stay on the fence for now  :D

Couldn't have lost Lucas at a more precarious time.... Southampton away, and then City at our place, and both after encounters with the Turks  :(

I'm not sure what Sky are on about, I wouldn't swap our run in for United's that's for sure.

Man Utd have the hardest IMO but we and Soton are a close second. Spurs don't have it easy either. Unfortunately, Arsenal have the easiest IMO. They have the least hard games and they're playing most of them at home.

We've just drawn Blackburn in the cup (at Anfield) and United have just got Arsenal!

So now I wonder if it would be better if united beat preston. Make sure arsenal would have to work for a win to qualify instead of having an easy draw.

Obviously it would be nice if preston were to beat both, but that just doesn't seem too likely.
