After we beat City last year at Anfield the title looked ours to lose, wouldn't it be ironic if the roles were reversed this year and we pip them to 4th.

It would be ironic, although I'll be shocked if we make the top 4. We don't deserve it.

City dropping out of top 4 would be more shocking than us making top 4.

Both in equal measure.... :D

Just win against Newcastle..... just win. We need some form ahead of our semi-final against the villians.

We are certainly outsiders but I wouldn't write us off just yet.
There's a quite a bit of talk about a clear out this summer at City and by all accounts there's a lot of players currently in their side who won't be at the Etihad next season (and that probably goes for the manager and his staff too). Motivation could be a bit of an issue, especially if one or two are disgruntled about the situation.
We've just got to win our games and hope the wheels fall off them. If they are all arguing behind the scene's it could happen.
Finishing 4th is unlikely but not impossible. If we win all our games we'd certainly go close.

Like others have said, despite the fact that City have an easier schedule than United it's probably better for us that they lost. They're in a very bad form and basically in a free fall. They need to lose one and draw one out of six remaining and that's not impossible. I'm more concerned about us though, can't see us winning all of our remaining games.

The chances of us going to Chelsea and winning are slim, but before tonight's game we had 7 games ahead of us and 21 points to play for, if we can scrape a draw at Stamford Bridge and win our other 6 games (well, 5 after tonight) that would give us 19 points out of that possible 21.
That might be enough.

If we draw at Chelsea, Man City will have to lose 2 and draw one out of their six remaining (because we'll be level on points if they just lose two), which is too much IMO, they're bad but not that bad unfortunately. If we win everything though, City will have to lose one and draw one, which is still a long shot but not impossible.

Pellegrino has lost the dressing room and the players have lost the plot. There are plenty more twists and turns to come and we have a great chance of finishing in the top 4.
Have faith and get behind the manager and the team and lets see what happens

Let's hope City keep imploding and we keep winning.

A lot you don't even want to make the CL for fear of getting humiliated again next season.

It terms of dollars and getting better players into our squad it makes a world of difference and missing out will really hurt this club over the long term.

You are right Reg, I should have said "A few of you" rather than "A lot of you"  :alien:

I think the royal 'We' might have been more appropriate.

Not necessarily mate, there's only 4 points in it with 18 to play for and a run of draws would make things very interesting, they wouldn't have to lose per se.
Obviously our destiny is not in our own hands and City are the clear favourites but there is definitely 'trouble at mill' over at the Etihad and they are relying on players and staff that probably won't be there next season to get them over the line. That is never a good situation for a club to be in.
