With only 3 MF's playing in most games will eventually lead to them getting over run by teams playing 5 in the middle and with teams catching on how to set up against it.

Since we have a wealth of CB's i would like to see the manager changing the system and play 343 in maybe training and cup games in order to make it a plan B when needed for games like last night. One more body in the middle would stop us being over run.

For me, some of our key players look tired, mentally. Gerrard in particular never gets a break. England captain, injuries and rehabilitations. We're still top and undefeated, so the lads are doing something right! He needs space to work and without Luis, he's not getting a lot.

If we created and scored more goals whilst dominating, we'd not be sh*tting our pants later. We need more goals. We're walking a tightrope most of the time and it makes us panic. That always gives teams like Swansea fuel.

For me this is a key area to be looked in the Jan window. The manager addressed our defensive issues in the summer so here's hoping he focuses his attention on a another creative MF and another wide man.

Coutinho hasn't played briliantly, but he's still been one of our better players. The lad can see a ball and moves. Its no conincidence that as soon as he went off against Swansea and they brought on De Guzman the game completely changed.

I got slagged off the other day for saying imagine losing Gerrard, Coutinho and Suarez, how do you think we'd cope.

Well without Coutinho and Suarez last night we seen just how we would cope.

The point being that the rest of the side just aren't upto it. Agger and Enrique are good players but they aren't match winners. The rest, including Sturridge are not good enough in my opinion.

I never slagged you off. I thought you were daydreaming about things that ain't, and things that could not be. It seemed irrelevant. You asked where we'd be without our three best players over the course of the season. I'm stating that we could possibly gain from trying a new tactic.

At the moment we look one dimensional. If we can't go through PC, we're stuck for ideas. Adapting another idea seems sensible. Teams stifle Couthino and batter him. A rest, bringing him on later would give a new dimension and maybe liven things up later.

I'm not suggesting we drop him. But we seriously need another option. Our second half performances are predictable, and frankly extremely difficult to watch.

better use of the squad is needed especially seen as we look about to drop mid-way through the second half. fresh legs and fresh ideas is what we are lacking during those periods.
it all comes down to quality though doesn't it. coutinho is so influential for us and there is no one on the bench that can replace him. alberto hopefully can provide adequate cover but i dont think rodgers feel's that comfortable letting him loose yet.

Hustler, you're aware that there's usually an opposition team playing against us, right? For each of our players, there's an opposite number. This includes Couthino. Because he's on the pitch dosen't mean he automatically scores, or gets assists. He's still learning. He needs to figure out how to get more space. His team needs to help him more. The opposition needs to stop tackling him and stuff.
