Played really well from what I saw as well. They especially looked dangerous on the counter attack with Petrov being very fast and direct. And what a goal by Elano! A hard hit freekick directly into the top corner... awesome.

Indeed they are, unfortunately there isn't really much to do about it. Just have to hope it evens itself out during the season.

Btw, the Mancs are up 1-0 now.... damn :(  Was really hoping Brum could do some deep defending against them!

Mancs win 1-0. So all the title contenders pick up slim 1-0 victories away from home, whereas Chelsea remain goal- and winless for four games on the trot in the PL.

Saw that!  Drogba basically karate kicked the Fulham player in the throat.  It was an accident but a yellow card nonetheless for the high boot...too bad he was already on a yellow! :D

Now, if only Fulham had had the composure to finish off one of the two guilt edged chances that came their way in the last ten minutes!  :no

It's a nonsense to suggest any player on the pitch isn't "interfering with play". Defences position themselves according to where their opponents are, the defenders play one or more players offside which dictates where everyone on the pitch is standing, making the player running from deep gain advantage by that positioning.

The way the rules are now is difficult for everyone and makes players work it to their advantage. You may as well play everyone onside and stay goalside rather than risk the player you're playing offside being deemed "inactive" and the opposition benefitting.

Anyone remember the Cisse incident where he jumped over/dodged the ball? How can you execute a dummy and not be interfering??!?!?! I say scrap offside altogether, before people start claiming it you won't end up with strikers right on top of the goalie "goal hanging". In all probability the game would be more stretched and player's marking skills tested to the full. They could at least trial it, can't imagine many players will "goal hang" with the prospect of the keeper catching every long ball punted in their direction. And where do all those predicting such a consequence anticipate the defenders being? Hands in pockets, leaning againt the post talking to the keeper?
