He has no potential...and I agree, he should be used as a bench for the subs!

Supersub I have told which games have shown us what he can do - can you remember back to last season when we got beat by Newcastle and who was their main player that day and goalscorer .

Service or non service...it's still possible to figure whether a player has some ability...

You are behaving like I did toward Lucas. Sh'ite, donkey, useless, not a footballer. I have eaten humble pie because Lucas has improved dramatically. He did this by being supported and given time. Lots and lots and lots of time.
Will you not give Carroll the same support and time so that you, like me can partake in a big slice of the pie that is humble?

Benny - I can remember the second half of last season and Carroll looked way out of his depth in a team that was playing some impressive football from the beginning of February onwards.Carroll had his moment against City and that was just about it.

Just what are you watching. You claim he did alright last night. When he had a really good chance on goal he took an air shot ffs. As for winning the ball in the air just what does he do with it. If he had the best service in the world he still wouldn't put the ball in the back of the net. 18 goals in the premiership in 4 years must tell you something? It tells me that we were stung for £35m !!!!!
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years

to say he has no potential is harsh. he clearly has ability but for whatever reason he isn't utilising it. i don't believe all this lifestyle and off the pitch nonsense. i just think the pressure of the price tag and the responsibility that comes with being at liverpool fc has got to the lad a bit. whether he misses newcastle or not i don't know but all i'll say is when he was there he was essentially playing under no pressure and was destroying teams. the team was essentially set up to supply him and then work around him. i'm not sure the way we play suits him, a bit like ibrahimovic didn't suit barca.

You do realise he spent most of the second half of last season being injured and recovering from that injury - even then he had a great game against Man City - but you still ignore he first half of the season .

And 18 goals in 4 seasons doesn't really paint the whole picture does it ? Look at the breakdown through the years - he first couple he is jus a young lad learning and breaking through then  Newcastle got relegated and he was thrust into regular first team action and he scored goals .

His first bit part season as a sub he scored 3 in 14 games with most from the subs bench , then he got 17 in 39 in the championship , then 11 in 19 in the prem for Newcastle first half last season , 2 in 7 for us second half and this season 2 in 9 .

So expand your stats a little to show the full story .

As for last nigh yes he mistimed a shot , yet he also cracked one on target on the stretch with his wrong foot , and yes he did win it in the air to try and flick it on .

Quite simply Lucas was a good player who showed potential and played well but was never afforded praise when deserved...I have no doubt huge portions of Humble Pie are being devoured by many newkit contributors...alas the same cannot be said for Andy Carroll......he is sh!t and has the potential to get worse...if he is given an eternity and eventually proves me wrong then I will seek out the nearest Milliner and gladly devour the entire stock...who needs Humble Pie when Hats will suffice.

Lucas was probably the worst Liverpool player I had ever seen in my life. He was so sh'it that sh'it was annoyed when people said he was sh'it.
Potential? Haha potential to become an insurance salesman because he werent no footballer. In fact he is one of the main reasons we havent won anything since 2006.
Biggest waste of time, slow witted, garbage at tackling, free kick giving, sideways passing gobsh'ite I have had the misfortune to witness in a red shirt.

I will admit if the price tag was less he would be dumped this January but the £35 million and the huge wage means we are stuck with him...allbutdross for christ sake!

I bet you all loved the fella when he scored the winner against the BS or the goals against City .

Give the lad a chance - he destroyed defences last season before he got injured - he is currently on a steep learning curve and needs time

As for tabloids ?!?! who gives a :censored: what they say - since when did Liverpool fans start taking the words of a tabloid or any newspaper as gospel

And as for Kenny rolling his eyes at a mention of the lad maybe he is sick of people questioning him or the lad and wishes some people just give him some time to regain his form and confidence .

He is a young lad who needs to mature and develop and our management have confidence in him so maybe we should trust that management , and let him and the team develop . Last night he actually provided a lot of good link up play and won a lot more headers against Hangeland than many other players would - the service into him was shocking as was the set piece delivery .

Its hard for me to say this but Benny I agree totally.. (thats twice now)

He is a young lad with absolute mountains of potential.  As Kenny has said many times he has been signed for 5 years not 5 weeks, months or whatever!

I was thinking the same thing!  :D

You guys who are writing off Carroll are ridiculous.. You act like he's supposed to do something amazing every time he touches the ball, like a Suarez... That's not the player he is.  He's a mountain who can create opportunities for others, and who can finish with a powerful shot.  He's scored twice this season, a third that was wrongly disallowed, set up Downing's goal that was wrongly disallowed, hit the post twice, and has forced 3 or 4 extremely good saves from keepers.  Just like Suarez, he's been very unlucky this year not to have way more goals.

He's 22 years old.  Very few target men develop when they are that young.  Around this age, Drogba scored 7 goals in over 40 games for Le Mans.... This is a much more challenging league, and they are very similar players.  It's an experience position and Big Andy has none yet.  As he continues to gain experience though, I'm fully confident he'll come good.

You guys need to stop acting like dam chealsea fans.
