Greavesie wrote:Agreed Bav, the bench is just far too weak, coupled with the fact some of the first team aren't even outstanding - rebuilding required - only question is who gets to do it...

What happend to the time when we had players like Hamann, Zenden, Smicer, Cisse on our bench. The game wasnt that bad tonight, Rafa surprised me with the lineup, Aquilani showed that he can play great if he is given the chance. The players didnt show like they want to score as many goals as they can though.Still, not that bad, but obviosly bad enough to kick us out of the competition.

Well, it isn't Rafa's fault really that the bench looked like it did.

It probably was worth 5 million at best, or less.

ah, feck off with yers. i'm proud of the lads tonight. we played well enough and with plenty of spirit but with no real options on the bench they were always going to do us in extra time, we were knackered after 90 minutes. look in the stands and you see torres, aurelio and skrtel sitting there - 3 good players we're missing. we don't have a great strength in depth anyway but with key players out we're fecked for options on the bench.

hats off to lucas and aquilani for playing good games and to masch for doing his best out of position.

and well done fulham but i hope atleti win it

Im ashamed. Nowhere near good enough for a club like LFC.

manager got to go. No trophies in 5 seasons. not even a carling cup!

how can some of you "die hards" keep backing Rafa after 6 seasons. He's got to go IMO. he's 80% responsible for everthing.

New owners AND manager next season Plz

Embarrassing.

Funny how ive never ever seen you make a post on this forum until we get knocked out of a cup  :D

did you not see my other 21 posts?

Penguins- so who chose Rafa's players for his 5m bench then?

who bought them?

the sqaud is so weak, bill shankly turned 45 degrees in his grave tonight.

come off it. a change of manager would not put us any worse off!??

rafa picks the team etc. check the figures and facts.

I actually thought we played pretty well. Aquilani was excellent and a major plus , Babel ran his socks off, Lucas was decent and all in all we gave it a really good go. You couldn't fault the effort, and had Torres been fit I'm pretty sure we would have seen them off.

I really liked their centre half too, Perea I think it was. Anyway, no shame in that performance, none at all IMHO.

The yanks of course. If Rafa had a decent kitty from which to spend with all this time we might not have such a weak squad. Not saying Rafa is faultless but at the end of the day less in the kitty means you have less to work with. It's not like he :censored: away 200mil in 1 season.

20m for a below average Aquilani.

2 questions for you pal.

1. who supplied the cash for that deal?
2. who chose the player?

I think it's too soon to make a final judgment on Aquilani. The fact that he was coming off a long term injury did us no favours but that doesn't mean to say he can't become a key player for us... as he showed tonight.

Rafa wanted Simao (looked good tonight didn't he?) Instead he got Pennant...

and it goes on and on...

Enough said.

Ill ask you, or anyone else a question out of interest regarding our bench: how much money have the Yanks actually invested in this team in the last 3 seasons? I think it's a big fat f*ck all. Discuss?
