Hope Fernando doesnt want to leave if LFC dont make top 4.

he could get into Barca or Madrid teams easy. He must be tempted. I dont think he would go to City or chelsea if he did exit.

playing for them next season of for us in the Europa league is a bit dis-heartening.

Someone on another forum claimed but for Torres' injury we'd be flying high, well here's another dent in that theory and how much Torres' injury has impacted on us this season

WITH OR WITHOUT TORRES 09/10

With : P32 W15 D4 L13 F56 A37 (won 46.88%)
Without : P18 W8 D6 L4 F17 A13 (won 44.44%)

He's only missed four defeats, in nine of those defeats he played in he played the full 90 minutes. He's also played more league games this season, scoring 18 goals in 22 appearances, than he did at this stage last season (13 goals in 21 appearances) And we accuse the bitters of blaming anything but themselves.

Interestingly, while he has missed four European games, he has played 83+ minutes in all but one. Rafa may maintain he doesn't prioritise Europe, yet his use of Torres until the very end (when he can) proves otherwise.

Liverpool FC have confirmed that striker Fernando Torres will undergo surgery on a knee injury later this evening.

A club spokesman said: "Fernando saw a specialist in Spain earlier today and it was decided that he would need surgery on a torn cartilage in his right knee.

"This will be carried out later tonight.  We cannot comment ahead of the operation, but as a guide, the usual rehabilitation period for this type of procedure is around six weeks."

Yeh. Benitez is a moron.

:p

Seriously though, if is the case. Then Liverpool absolutely NEED to go with 442 if they are to salvage anything from this wretched season. No more 451 with people who cannot score goals.

Doubt he'll feature, S@int. At least next season he'll have plenty of opportunites. I think the name you should really have mentioned is Aquilani.

The league (CL) has gone now mate (at least imo) may as well give a few of the players we hope to see more of next season a run out now. Kelly (if fit), Pacheco, Aquilani, El Zhar. See what they have and whether they will be any use to us.

In the Europa league maybe try Kuyt and N'gog up front together.

Just a pity a few of our more promising players are out on loan or I would be sticking them on the bench.

Aye, I agree. Wouldn't mind if Rafa threw out a side containing Pacheco, Kelly and Aquilani against Chelsea. I was more thinking about the Europa, which we will be in next season no doubt. Players like Pacheco could really thrive in that competiion and gain valuable experience and should be played in it without question. As for our reamaining "imortant" games where we've a chance to actually win something worthy, then I think Aquilani should be brought into either a 4-4-2 formation, or resort to playing Gerrard up behind either Kuyt of N'gog, which hasn't really worked that well all season.

I wouldn't. Babel is getting a fair enough crack in the right position IMO. He's been put up top before, and was even worse and awkward looking than N'gog, not meaning to disrespect the kid (N'Gog that is).

BTW, Babel is banned for the next Europa fixture.
