It's sh*te to see Alonso going. It really is. But I'd rather see a player leave on good terms and for us to make a good size fee from a player wanting to leave than rather have him stay and have his mind elsewhere and seeing his form drop. When that happens the manager and the team isn't getting the best out of the player and it's at a detriment to the squad. You just need to look at Ronaldo's situation last year where his form took a big dip. No point asking for another season when there's no way we're going to see him at the top of his game.

ship him out and lets bring in Aquilani, Sneijder or Cambiasso...
If we can also get rid of Dossena then we might be able to afford Silva ..

Could turn out good, could turn out disastrous... all depends on what Rafa has planned for the money we get...

it would... but it aint gonna happen. Madrid aren't budging on £26m cash... if they do make a final bid it'll be something like £29m... we wont get any player part-ex.

16.56 Xabi Alonso has informed Liverpool that he would like to bring his five-year stint with the club to an end. A Liverpool source has confirmed he has put in a written transfer request.
