According to Uncle Alberto Xabi will be tomorrow in the traffic department to renew his driving license and update some papers about a car he owns. If so, I'll be able to make a photo of Xabi and ask him a signature for newkit and beg him to stay. If Uncle Alberto is wrong on this one I will personally tell him to fúck off

The fact that he hasn't come out moaning like Ronaldo shows he is not a complete :censored: but still he obviously wants to go so lets just let him. Im sure Rafa has a plan.

I agree   if he wants to go then he should go but why not this?

"Perez, you want him? 35 million by Friday or deals off for good!"

Bloody bunch of feckers they still owe us at least 12 million for stealing Owen ph and add another 2 million for that useless kunt Nunez!!

Alonso is not a big shirt seller name wise so they won't pay that much. To be honest I don't care if he goes for £26Mil or £30Mil. As long as Rafa has contingency plan sorted then that's fine.

So you don't mind if we get £9m less than the asking price?

Surely that £9m could come in handy? ??? :D

But what if we get the asking price but at that time it comes too late for Rafa to bring in a suitable replacement?

If Xabi wants to go, like with Ronaldo at the end of the day theres no stopping him. My concern is the first 3 months of the season are critical to winning the league so its not the time for a new player like Aquilani to be learning player´s names, finding a house and fast track learning how LFC play.

The only solution as I see it is to sell Xabi for the full 35 million for release in January, buy Aquilani now, give him 4 months to learn the club and the game then he takes over in january when Xabi leaves.

We havent bought Aquilini, he hasnt trained with us, he doesnt know our strategies, strengths or weaknesses, he doesnt know how Torres or Stevie like the ball on which foot in which sectors of the field so how can we expect him to come in and make the required impact from day 1?

The longer this goes on, the least likely it is Xabi will leave, but if he does, surely a bigger exposure for LFC for the above reasons.

If that's the case I would hope that Rafa insists on keeping Xabi.

But then - let's be honest - I hope he keeps him full-stop. :nod

Sell him in Jan could be tricky and we may not fetch as much as he will surley be registered to play in Europe right?

My paper says that Rafa wants Madrid to make a concrete offer in the next three days or all deals are off. There is a difference of £10m in the two clubs respective valuations. If Alonso is sold Rafa is apparently keen on Alberto Aquilani a 25 year midfielder from Roma.

Its upto Rafa whether he thinks we need Xabi to get through the CL qualifiers.

Striker Fernando Torres has insisted it would be ''a serious loss to Liverpool'' if Xabi Alonso completed a move to Real Madrid.

Alonso: Which way to the Bernabeu?

The Spanish giants' pursuit of the Liverpool midfielder is set to come to a head with Reds manager Rafael Benitez keen for the Spain international's future to be cleared up before his squad reassemble following a three-day break.

It is believed Benitez has threatened to pull the plug on negotiations if Madrid do not meet his £30m valuation of the player before the weekend - and Torres is hoping his compatriot stays with the club.

The striker said: ''It would be a bad piece of work if Xabi left - he plays his cards close to his chest so I don't know what is going to happen.

''I'd put Xabi's own wishes ahead of everything else, of course, but he's got three years left on his contract with us and I'd love it if he stays.

''It would be a serious loss for Liverpool if he left this summer.''

Torres' views are in stark contrast to former Reds goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek, who claimed a move to Real Madrid would represent a ''dream come true'' for Alonso.

Dudek, now the back-up goalkeeper to Iker Casillas at the Bernabeu, said: ''He is Spanish and all the Spanish guys want to play for Real Madrid.

''This is a dream come true for them and Xabi knows that he's not the only one.''

We're not in the Champ League Qualifiers!!  2nd place baby!!!! :buttrock
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
