Might aswell just accept Negredo + Snejder and try and buy Young/Silva.

You sure it was the Observer? Only reference to us in there (apart from the Judas interview  :p ) is saying we're gonna bid £20m for Young in Tales from the Tabs.  ???

I agree I like the idea of loaning first - but I'd actually rather own sneider as part of the deal and have Negredo on 2 year loan

Top player Alonso and seemed a decent bloke too, if its true he is going then I think we have got a cracking deal. I haven't seen Negredo play but he seems to be quite well thought of, and Sneijder for a couple of years is a decent bonus.

Can't say I am happy to see Alonso go, but I am quite happy with the deal if he must.

I think it could be better to the loan a player we've never really seen before than a player we saw vs Liverpool last season in the Champions League Qtr-Final.

Another option thats been mooted about is Javi Martinez. Wasn't Rafa interested in him at one point? I hear he's like Alonso, but younger and quicker. Perhaps he's too expensive?

Javi Martinez's buy-out clause is something like £30m.

Javi Martinez has said he doesn't want to play in england at the moment

However, the 20-year-old insists he has happy at Athletic Bilbao and has no desire to move on.

"The truth is I am not interested in this. I am focused on my club and not interested in rumours," Martinez said.

"Still, I have many years left on my contract.

"I am very happy in Bilbao and want to continue. The truth is that I don't want to move."

Sneijder would do a decent job here I reckon, Negredo would provide another 'option' up front but I have to say I'm not convinced. Then we just need Silva and ITS ON!  :buttrock
