The Alonso Thread - hands in transfer request

Am I the only one who see`s this as a bit of a nightmare?
Had we signed Barry this would be a cracking bit of bussines but as it stands and possible fee aside all I can see is a big Alonso shape hole in our midfield and even an enforced formation change. If this has been on the cards then why the fk didnt we get Barry signed?Doesnt make any sence.
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,

nice one

Their deal with Adidas brings in tons, especially the 4 years they had Beckam.  Read somewhere he brought in somewhere between 200-600 million for the club, with advertisements and such.  Now that they have Ronaldo, he might also bring in some cash.

Although I don't believe Ronaldo will be as marketable as Becks.

I'm not sure on this really, if Real are going to bid silly money then maybe we should take it, we need money for some signings and negredo is a good player, we could also get a left winger

The only problem would be replacing xabi

WTF are you on about mate, alonso fo me has been so consistant,a major player for us since he joined that i totally find your post un believable, alonso has shown real quality, character, passion for the club that he deserves his place in the first team!

again i say whatever money is touted for alonso i would be totally p1ssed off if he left LFC. i really hope he isn't made a financial scapegoat, cause for me like SG his lose would weaken the side not improve it. let's talk about what makes alonso special - you go on about 2/3 seasons ago FFS have you forgotten about istanbul already! any player who faced taking a penalty under the intense pressure he did -miss, then have the skill, know how etc to follow up & make my heart race,my beer go everywhere etc will always have my respect.

alonso has always demonstrated he is not just a great team player but also full of self confidence, which has had a graet influence over the years with players around him.

any team in europe would be proud to have alonso in their team, i'm just so glad that he is part of ours. & no amount of money would change my mind. alonso for me is that important for our future progress that i'm totally confident he has & will produce the form he has shown from day 1.

The storys about him wanting to leave have to be coming from somewhere and I think its his agent.

Xabi may not actually want to  leave but his Agent may be trying to push for a move by telling everyone that Xabi is unhappy, and trying to convince Xabi that Real is the best move him.

His agent could be thinking "A massive club like Real want Xabi and , this could be a chance for me to get a few bob so I'll just try and make it look like he wants to leave" I think that's why Rafa mentioned the meeting with him a few weeks ago. I thought that was the end of it but no, Xabi's agent will not rest until his client is a Real Madrid player.

In short this whole saga could be because his agent is a greedy ****er who's **** stirring. :veryangry

Or his agent could be doing precisely as Alonso wishes and manipulating a move while protecting Alonso's 10% cut of any transfer. How long do you think an agent would last if he went against the wishes of his client?

He'd be sacked, Gareth Barry sacked his agent after the long running transfer saga last summer. Plus I wouldn't put it past him to make up a story like this to fuel speculation. If Xabi's agent isn't lieing the how come Rafa said ""I asked him if the player was happy in Liverpool and he(Xabis agent) said yes. It was a short meeting."

So are Real Madrid really that much bigger than Manure and us then?? If so where is their market?

I fecking hate Real Madrid they are much worse than Chelsea in terms of having unfair amounts of money, the sooner FIFA starts imposing caps on player wages and transfers the better in my opinion as long as its set at a realistic level, These ridiculously bloated transfer fees are absolutely obscene when there are people really struggling financially these days, I just can't understand how football seems to be the only industry which is immune to the global financial downturn, it's really weird.

THIS is obscene :- Ronaldo, 24, is expected to sign a six-year contract before being formally confirmed as a Real player on July 1. His salary will start at £9.5 million a year, rising 25 per cent annually to a staggering £29 million - or just over £557,500 a week - in the final year. He stands to earn up to £107 million.

Again I ask, where the bloody hell are Real Madrid financing this from? Just how big are they becuase this really doesn't make any frigging sense now. You can imagine that Kaka has probably got a similar deal. To bankroll this they wouldhave to be earnign an enormous amount in merchandising, far far more than most other top clubs combined.
I mean who the feck has ever seen anyone in a Real Madrid shirt becuase I can't remember the last time I did. Plenty of Barca shirts, Manure, Liverpool, Arsenal, AC Milan etc but not Real Madrid. Are they just completely phony like Chelsea or is there some huge hidden market somewhere, does everyone in China and India support Real Madrid maybe?
