Hopefully these are just players to add a bit more depth and experience to the squad . There will still be the big signinig to add the quality required - ie Silva or Tevez hopefully silva

I don't believe the problem is whether Rafa wants to sell him or not. I have read reports that suggested things have not been right between Alonso and Rafa since he made a move for Barry last year. Not sure how much credit to give the reports (teletex) but they suggested that Alonso wants to go back to spain.

in getting him, he was a better player then, this year he has only been as half as good as he once was, he has lost pace and tends to fall out of games, that might be just down to being at that club., what he can offer we have better in Kuyt....i am shocked i just said that.

Perez has just said:

"I'm going to work to bring Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.

"I've been here a few days and neither (former president, Vicente) Boluda nor anyone else has talked to me about this supposed agreement.

"What would be very good is to see these great players at Real Madrid this season. Cristiano would be one of these."

(from SSN)

No mention of Alonso from him.. maybe they are giving up  :oh:

Maybe, but not yet.

A journo that knows about inner Real Madrid things mentioned that this year they're finding a pretty stubborn Rafa who doesn't want to get rid of Xabi.

The journo says, in a marca column, that last season the negotiations were with Rick Parry, who set a price of 27M if Alonso was going to be gone. I repeat the sum, 27M by Parry.

It would explain, if that was what the club asked, why Arsenal or others didn't make the effort of going from a 14M offer, to a 17M. It always sounded strange to me that for that sum they would refuse to get one of his targets.

The journo writes that the negotiations will be tough, that they can't think of getting him for less than 27, that players like Negredo are going to be offered as part of the deal to get that price lower, but the contacts just have started.

So I'm calm. Because it all seems to indicate that either Xabi stays, which would be fantastic, or the offer is going to be too god to refuse.

good players you can tell straight away and Tuncay is a good player and cheap . I'm surprised not many rate him here.

Remember when he played for fenerbache against man utd during rooneys debut - they were both around the same age and Tuncay scored a cracking hat trick but was overshadowed by rooneys the same match .

Looking at Tuncay.. he looks fast, skillfull and creative but doesnt look like the best finisher and i think we need that more than anything.

Perez has given an interview and it was on Sky saying the only other player they want after Kaka (looks like def getting him ) is Ronaldo . No mention of Xabi at all . Hopefully that will stop the press rehashing the same c.rap every day
