Wenger is crazy if he thinks Liverpool will do that stupid thing.

Exactly. Arsenal are doomed anyways. would like villa to finish forth.

The villains are actually starting to scare me a bit, they are in the best form of any team at the moment and not that far behind us. I don't think they have the squad to win the league though but at the moment they are playing some damn fine football.

Could you imagine Alonso at Arsenal. He may be just another good player for us when we have Mash as a holding midfielder and Gerrard pulling the strings with no pace on the wings. However at Arsenal with the speed of Walcot, Van Persie, Sagna and Clichy bombing down both flanks and a sub par Delison/Song as the alternative holding midfielders. He'd be easily worth forking out 20m for them IMO.

I wouldn't sell for that price either to them. I think with their players and him pulling the stings they'd be real title contenders. We don't need that.

Alonso is world class! He's priceless! Rafa would be crazy to sell him! I still can't believe Rafa was willing to sell off Alonso for Barry during the summer. Alonso is one of the main reasons why we're top of the table; nobody in the team can pass as well as him - period.

They play some good football, and they are fourth on merit. But they've lost only one less than Arsenal who most are writing off. They've become relatively efficient at beating the sides outside the 'big four', even indulging themselves with a relatively rare win over said aforementioned member who are out of form. They lost at Chelsea, drew at home to us and the mancs. When those fixtures are reversed they will truly be tested

Aston Villa (08/09)

vs 1-4 : P3 W0 D2 L1 PTS 2
vs 5-10 : P6 W4 D2 L0 PTS 14
vs 11-16 : P6 W4 D1 L1 PTS 13
vs 17-20 : P4 W2 D0 L2 PTS 6

Stoke have beaten villa, boro beat them at VP - even QPR won there in the League Cup. They've won two thirds of their games against sides placed 5-16, that's their bread and butter. They are vulnerable to defeat though, until they can be truly consistent and tough to beat they may rely on 'big four' sides slipping up like Arsenal are in order to stay in the top four long. I certainly expect them to fare little better than the bitters IF they qualify for the Champions League.

There is no such thing as priceless IMO. If Arsenal offered up Theo Walcot for Alonso. I'd probably take it, we could really use a class RW with pace.

Whats goin on here Stu ,Thawing  a little bit towards Rafa are we .  id have thought youd prefer anyone but him. :;):

Next week though my nerves will be gone to pieces to see if Wenger actualy opens his cheque book an puts in a bid for Xabi. To me he is priceless, a player of his passing ability an vision for the game dont come along very often an when youve got such a player in your team you keep them. You certainly dont sell them to one of your rivals, Xabi has played like all the demons are off his back this season imo our best player so far, That European Championships came at the right time for him he got back to playing like we all knew he could an it has grown an grown from there ,which has benefited us.

An on song Xabi Alonso is a must on any team sheet in the world. Thats why red beard an all he must stay here

He's quality but you're going to far, Gerrard has again been head and shoulders above everyone.

Xabi at times lacks the intent he shown yesterday for Keane's second.

So your price is different....You'd still give him up at the right price, you are kidding yourself if you think not. Maybe for you it takes more than Walcott but still the point stands.

The point was if you'd take an average player like Walcott over a very good player like Alonso then I am glad you aren't the manager.

Not being funny like Dan we know every player has a price . But you just dont sell your best players . An i would not take Walcott in exchange for Xabi not a chance. an i dont think Wenger would be offering him either. He is as much part of Arsenal as Xabi is to us.

Just as a side note how much would you expect we should take for Xabi if anyone came in for him.

An for you Stu saying im going to far . Ill go as far as Xabi will let me
