No, I don't think it's insulting to suggest that others aren't objective either.  In fact, having either followed or been in the midst of this debate for a couple of years now, I can say with absolute 100% certainty that no one who repeatedly revisits the Alonso debate is capable of being objective on the subject.  That's because, as with the Kuyt debate, it's only partially about the player and his performances on the pitch at this stage of the discussion.  Overshadowing that stuff is the personal dynamics of those doing the arguing, as evidenced by how quickly things turn sarky when Alonso is discussed for more than a post or two.  So, I say again to everyone, continue fighting the good fight if you must, but please leave the personal stuff out of it.

Fair enough Bob, I will retire from the debate, albeit ungraciously

Placing a tag that is placed everyday to posters like me, has provoked a quite rudimentary and  not very dignified answer in my book. With the usual laughter of his sidekick, the one who asked his account to be deleted, the one who left with a tear in the eye.

You actually dont know the reasons for me leaving.

So stop the sly digs Sabre.

Xabi- not playing to his best during a number of periods over the last couple of season - When he came back from the WC in 2006 for a good 4 months odd he wasnt on the greatest of form last season he started off very well but then got injured and when he came back he wasnt on the best form again . During the summer it looked like he was going but that didnt work out . and this season he has started off very brightly and along with both masher and gerrard with have three CMs off different bit still high quality and can work together what ever pairing or as a three when required . I for one am glad he didnt leave as a on form xabi is three times the player barry is and i hope we see xabi carryig on playing to the level he is doing at the moment .
