Without reaching the madness of winning a football championship, there was some proper celebration in one of the main plazas of Madrid (I love that part of Madrid's architecture).
Gasol's speech was simple. He simply copied Reina and started singing Camarerooooooo
Rudy Fernandez's speech was simple aswell. He said "No speech, no shít, we're champions!"

In America, we call it a chest bump. More popular now (maybe safer) is the side bump, where each person spins 90 degress in the air.
21.5 is incredibly young.
Sounds like Spain is really benefiting from the fall and breakup of Eastern Europe
looks like a much bigger crowd that I would have expected.
I don't think that most Americans know that there is a world championships in basketball, and even less know where or when (Turkey IIRC). The Olympics is all that matters, and even then its more of a win the gold or else you come back with shame on your family. I would say that looking at how the players celebrated the gold, they realized how hard it was. Maybe if the gold medal game was not on at 4:00 am on the east coast more people would know how close it was.
Is there any difference to Pau Gasol for Spain in before he was an NBA champ and after?
