Yeah, those pre-season games are really top level stuff. World class oppo. Steve G hasn't scored a goal in our two pre-season warm ups. He's sh*t. Flog him and sack Rafa for playing him.

Yes he's hit the ground if not running, certainly jogging anyway. As I said on a previous post which was swiftly deleted, I am now absolutely convinced he will now be a roaring success, due to a number of factors.

yea i think he'll be given chances to prove himself and i cant see him not doing well.. afterall despite his injuries and despite what everyone else keeps saying about him being finished and all, he's always produced whenever played... even with Madrid and Newcastle his goalscoring records were nothing short of phenomenal...
Ferguson will know how to get the best out of him, which is a shame ...

the first one will was a simple goal chance that just fell to him with an open goal, didnt exacly require any sharpness to put it away. the second was just the ball floting in the box after a corner wasnt it?

hes sh!t, lets just leave it at that  :D

If he's a success over there, it's not sufficient to justify our signing of him on the basis that his form would have replicated itself over here. At best you can loosely argue it might serve as evidence that he was worth a punt, but that justification doesn't constitute anything like 'proof' we were wrong not to sign him instead - it's impossible to test.

As was Tevez, but many on here were playing with themselves at the thought of him coming to LFC.

His actions are strange at best, and at worst down right offensive to LFC, doesn't mean we shouldn't have signed him before he had a chance to go to Man U.

Some Chelsea fan was getting all excited about those goals. I said to him wait till the season starts, he will be injured by September maybe October.

So it's fair to assume that if he (Owen) hadn't scored a goal yet, those who think we should never have signed him wouldn't have mentioned it as the opposition has been insignificant? Fair enough.

And our opposition to date has been world class ? Nah, didn't think so....And we STILL can't put the ball in the back of the net.....No excuses for the team make-up either - those who are on tour should in theory be capable of pulling on a first team shirt at any stage, and slotting in like it was theirs all along.....I'm not overly pleased so far....

I have said it before and I will now say it again, I am not exactly happy he has signed for them but......give him the chances and he will score goals, deflected of some part of his body = right place at the right time, hate him all you want but the terrible truth is that he WILL score goals for them, deflected of his :censored: or some other place but he will put the ball in the net. Should we be p!ssed off that we didnt sign him based on 2 goals in 2 games so far ? maybe , should we have took a chance on signing him, IMO yes we should. I am sure that over the course of the coming season we will see scrambles in the box, crosses that no one got on the end off and missed chances and maybe some of us will then look back and think " if only" then again maybe we will read about him breaking down and spending most of the season on their treatment table and think "close call".

The only thing I am sure of is that IF he stays fit he WILL score goals, it really is that simple.

I am not going to keep bumping this once the season starts with posts about how he is doing because far to much space has already been used on him, Raffa decided he didnt want him back and he has his reasons and as our manager I will back him in his decision, all I am saying is hate Michael Owen the person but dont let that hate blind you of the lads ability
