It's an interesting thread Barry with some good replies, and doesn't need this b0ll0cks shoving it off line. I know you probs won't like me saying it and will accuse me of "sticking up for by bum chum" or something similar, but why not just drop the ignoring each other the pair of you and go back to coversing? You always got on alright before, and Barry you seem incapable of ignoring S@int so just forget the feud, shake hands figuratively and go back to normal I reckon.

Anyway, that aside I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of the Afghanistan situation, but I do know that if my boy ever came home and told me he was going to join the army and be at the whim of politicians, I'd kick him straight in the b0ll0cks. These fecking pointless battles that they send our lads in to various far flung corners of the Earth are in many cases simply exercises in futility. You've got brave young men and women coming back in body bags while these c...s quaff G & T's and pontificate their next move. It's b0ll0cks. It was b0ll0cks when working class kids piled over the top of trenches and got gunned down in their thousands, and it's b0ll0cks now.

Its a shame when the genuine normal individual have to suffer for the big mans objectives. Majority of the survied soldiers who make it back suffer from war. Its something which stays within them for the rest of their lives. The horrors and terrors a soldier witnesses is beyond belief. I remember the documentary fahrenheit 9/11 by micheal moors was an interesting insight to how these regimes escalate situations.
A scene when he approached some goverment officials and asks to forward thier children to the military.
All they did was ignore the fella..

If a war is ligitimate then it would be imperitive for all to help but when its a hidden agenda makes one think why bother!

Original ha ha ha ha it was just a photo COPIED off the internet. The only original thing you have ever done was to start shuvelling turds rather than just being one.

Even little girls know what you are.

You are a nebish, a nothing, who's only abiding quality is that you enable everyone else to feel superior. If you had one more brain cell you might just qualify as a vegetable.

Now try being a man instead of a little maggot and shut the fk up and ignore me like you said you wanted. Or is that too complex for that little brain of yours.

The forum had one of its odd weeks last week, it has them from time to time but things seem to be settling down again now. A couple of long term members were banned permanently, there was a debate about the card system (quite a short one) and a few people were labelled c...s, just one of those weeks really

Anyway, I myself got accused of campaigning to get people banned, and it wan't the case. I can't speak for S@int, but I was simply arguing in favour of all the rules applying to everyone, all the time. If it is the case that there are no rules, then equally that should apply to everyone too.

Anyway, in the midst of it all, one or two people fell out. You appear to have fallen out with S@int, whereas me and Lando have expelled a couple of diplomats out of each others respective embassies. It's all good, but you've got a good thread which is genuinely interesting to read here being taken off course by petty squabbling. Let it go and move on.

The Afghan and Iraq operations have been on the American political shelf for decades. It just so happened that a major event, such as September 11th proved to be the right propaganda coup needed to convince (some) people that an invasion was necessary.

It's incredibly hypocritical of the US administration to be spouting on about both the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Baath party in Iraq, because they helped put them into power and helped keep them there. If America is so appalled by the Taliban, then they shouldn't have propped up the Mujahideen in the early 80's. The same can be said for their support for Saddam. There were no secrets to what these people were like. It's especially suspect, that many of the movers and shakers of the Reagan administration that supported these regimes in the 80's, were the people pulling George Bush's strings in the 2000's.

The simple fact is, that these regimes were supported for the express intention to topple them in some future exercise. 9/11 helped with convincing the public (or a body thereof) that that toppling should happen when they did.

Unfortunately, for Britain, Blair saw this as an opportunity to consolidate his own country's future resource needs, with a victorious America. Not that another British government would have done anything else mind you, let's be clear on that. However, Tony didn't reckon on the objection by the British people (and people in general) to wars in foreign countries based on lies and both wars are based largely on mendacity, especially Iraq. Tony also didn't count on Bush abandoning Afghanistan half way through, in order to put into effect America's long planned take over of Iraq and Bush's string pullers played that one beautifully, essentially leaving Britain holding the bag in Afghanistan.

Now, it seems, that the war in Afghanistan is set to go on for some tme and more people will end up dead.

But, in the end, America will control who gains access to Iraqi oil and who gets to build their pipelines across Afghanistan...and meanwhile we'll all have to listen to the most unbelievable propaganda bullshit about people we actually know nothing about from people already proven to be liars of the worst kind.

The worst is yet to come.

3 of the last 8 that died were 18 years old....Fu*king kids! :(

Really sad..sometimes I think best pull out and let the kunts do what they want!
Other times Im proud of our troops...best in the world, fighting a chicken sh,it army that plants bombs in donkeys and blows kids up for a result..rather than actually fight!

It wont stop though..the government need to understand the basic Taliban mindset and likewise them us..until then,I reckon every life lost is in vain!

I think it would be a mistake to think that the Taliban are just a bunch of looneys who simply go around blowing up donkeys and kids. Besides, there's plenty of that to go around on all sides.

Remember, there is a core body within that were trained in the 80's by the CIA and they are well versed in using the terrain to the best advantage. These are the fighters who saw off the might of the Red Army, arguably the strongest army in the world at the time and they were there in much larger numbers too.

The Taliban's fighting organisation have proven to be very skillfull fighters and have shown that they are capible of taking on modern mobilised war machines to great effect.
