can't understand why people are slagging him off. Yes he went to prison, but he stayed out of trouble when he was here and he tried his best on the field. OK, he wasn't good enough, but he at least fought for his place and kept his mouth shut most of the time.

good luck i say.

its a shame he never built off of the 2nd half of his 1st season when he played pretty well consistently and was probably MOTM against AC Milan in the CL final. I think i just set a record for most abbrevations in one sentence on Newkit.

One of the best examples of the modern day footballing extortionists ......play a little....doesn't even have to be particularly well and earn a million.
Glad to see the back of him and there aren't many ex players you can say that about.

As soon as he left for Pompey I completely forgot he was still on the books.  Shows how much I've missed him. :D  Good luck to the lad.  I'm sure he'll quickly become a fan favourite at La Mestalla with his application and desire to prove his doubters wrong. :D

BTW, I wonder if he's as chuffed about going to Valencia as he would have been going to Madrid in January?  Something tells me he is and that it has more to do with the beaches and bars than it does with football.  Harsh perhaps but still...

i don't blame him to be honest...he came here but wasn't good enough. Then wanted to see out his contract because he knew he couldn't earn more anywhere else.
