It was certainly contentious, but I feel as opposed to the outrage generally expressed it could have gone either way - whichever one of the United players it was (EDIT: Carrick) got a touch to take it round Hilarious Gomez. Gomez then brushed the ball AFTER making contact with Carrick, but the brush did not change the trajectory of the ball significantly.

Could have gone either way, ref with probs under pressure after they were denied one against the Bitters.

It has EVERYTHING (caps for effect...) to do with the behaviour that goes on behind the scenes. Behaviour that spans the entire spectra of incredulity on offer from anyone of these characters at any one stage in the proceedings. Yes there were 4 people ejected last night. And i shall elaborate (for the only time - for the record) on a few minutia - for those who are interested.

Things like this:

PM's to the mods and i mean....bucketloads of em - complaining about the slightest, trivial matters you couldn't wish to imagine having any impact whatsoever augmenting any sane persons experience here...

So on and so forth. There's that many of the damn things.

Now....this is a feature of the forum and one that any mod should expect to be handling without question - this, report post to mod button. Goes with the territory (and ergo: if you dont like the job - step down)  Of course....Fine, we answer queries from members who are cheesed off with....other members. No problems with that (unless they become *cough* a  l i t t l e  bit more personal than yer average PM) if you get me.

You can conveniently arrive at that conclusion, yes. Easy infact. But it really has not. None of the 'longer standing' members have been acting like spoilt brats in quite the same way as our 4 evictees had. Actually, only 3 of them were being childish, petty provocative and aggravating for the sake of it...the 4th was just....well, lets say for simplicity's sake - a minor fly in the ointment that merits a good slap in all honesty. Though he will have to make do with just a cold, dark and unnerving stare for now. He will be able to assimilate that information into his tiny mind and calculate it to be - the work of the devil, im sure.

Anyway, my point.

My point is that all 3 of the rest have gone out of their way to make our jobs as awkward and difficult as is feasibly possible. The mere fact that others were becoming fed up with it was just the straw that broke the camels back as far as im concerned.

As mods (and i will speak for myself now) input and meaningful participation in any footballing debate has had to take a backseat for quite some time now. Due largely to having to constantly quell some virtual shennanigans round almost every corner. There simply isnt any energy left to formulate a decent contribution. Shame that.

In summary:

Yes it is unfair to be seen as biased. And yes, there have been members (who should know better) that have overstepped the mark. One or two of them are sailing extremely close to extinction as we speak...

But, i would rather have them around the place (contributing sensibly when they can) Than a group of whingers who find little else stimulating their sensory existence, save for the absolute euphoria generated by reporting to the mods the fact that so and so told me to f*ck off or somebody else farted too loud in their direction. FFS. The mods are f*cking sick of it. Genuine reports are considered and dealt with for the merit they deserve...but at least 70% of this stuff is total bollox.

Im not saying anything else on this matter. They were suspended, end of. The forum will continue - the standard of discussion can only improve, and my final words are these: Like it or lump it....we are TRYING to keep the place going in the spirit it is intended. To debate about Liverpool Football Club.
