Eastenders is the most god awful program on tv. The "actors" are awful, the over pouring of some wine or liqour by the character max is very VERY annoying, the way patrick cannot seem to determine whether he is irish, english or jamaican is annoying, the constant squeaking of stacey is annoying, and the fact that peggy has barred everyone from her pub and yet people still arrive there is also very annoying.

Combined with this you have the wooden actors from years before, the god awful actors who play ian beale, phil mitchell, and the horrible mess who plays janine. The best thing about this program is Wednesday. Im not suffering on that day as my missus cannot burden me with it as it isnt shown !

Fortunately, for me at least, she isnt also for Coronation Street or cack like Big Brother (Reality shows). So its not all bad.

its been so long since I've went anywhere near that heap but I seen it last night, what the sh!ttin hells goin on, some bird got well and truly taken out by a car at the end, pretty funny viewing I have to admit

Mars

The Red Planet is about to be spectacular!

This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that
will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in
recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is
in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on
Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be
certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth
in the last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as
60,000 years before it happens again.

The encounter will culminate on August 27th when
Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and
will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in
the night sky.

Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.

a version of this has done the rounds of the internet every year for the last 5 or 6 years and it ain't true.

what will happen is that every two years the earth and mars reach the closest parts of their orbits, if you look at mars through a telescope with one eye and the moon with the other (naked) eye they will look roughly the same size.
