All you ever hear is about how this forum has gone to the dogs, how the mods are doing a rubbish job and how these long term members kept this forum going.
Guess what, they didnt. They posted up a post that was well worded or passionate or agreed with a majority of the posters and was classed as a good poster. Ive hung around here for 5 years but never class myself as better or worse than any member. I am a member of this forum and this forum has kept itself going because of the members. If regular members from a few years back decide to bugger off, so what? Is this forum going to the dogs because the ole members have had enough? No, in the opinion of myself, the old egos have broken and can see for themself they dont have as much influence as they used to. But to kid yourself in the belief that this is the reason why this forum is failing, the old members leaving then by christ, the only advice I can give is, get a life. Seriously.
It doesnt matter who decides not to post again, this forum will continue, there will be new members and the cycle repeats itself, same arguments, same discussions, same elations in victory and nastiness in defeat. And this is what keeps the forum going. Its not down to how the old members have left, its down to, who can accept this is, first and foremost, a bloody forum !
I'll never say im leaving, i'll just pay the bill and get reconnected ! I'll never say i'll miss <whoever> because I wont. I'll never say ban someone or report any post, because lets face it, when you start on that road, your life really is connected to the internet. I'll log on in here, post my opinion, and accept any reply. I have learned to accept this place for what it is. A Forum. A place for people to voice there opinions. I like the people on here, new or old, opinions differ but the majority of people are here because they live in the real world (not the topic !).
My point is, so what. You'll hear older members whinging about the previous posters and how good they were (if they were that good, why didnt they have more of an influence?), concentrate on each of your own posts, be disciplined and soon they wont even be mentioned. Im guessing this forum will still be here next year, and the year after....
