Get the two of them off to fu'ck and go with Torres and Kuyt!

I think babel has been pretty okay , passing has been decent , needs to go upfront i feel

Not upfront he just needs to go!------------> :nod

ah well we both have different opinions but thats what you get when you put 6 defenders on the pitch , nothing 1 man can do , unless he's stevie of course  :D

can you believe it only three players are natural attackers;
benayoun, babel, ngog

the rests are defensives;
carra, skrtel, agger, dossena, fabio, arbeloa, mascherano

probably we should take babel off for alonso, hyypia for benayoun, and leave ngog alone upfront :D

thats what happens when you dont get many games, King Kenny always said if you buy a striker you must use him as much as you can, the more games he gets the more chance there is of him being turned into a great striker.

which is why i could understand if he was rusty but everytime it gos forward 2 him & u can c benni or some1 runnin off him u just think pls chest it & flick it on but he always ALWAYS loses it

its windin me up thats not lack of games when its EVERY TIME

mate ffs cut out the :censored: text speak will yea , its doing my head in

totally bumesed by the defensive line up + so many changes.

Riera, Alonso, Torres on bench. am i missing something? have they earned a rest?

we had better win this game or rafa is gonna get ripped.

why so defensive line up?

Alonso has a small knock mate ... will only be brought on if needed.

And he might be needed soon :p

Last thing we need is Alonso to be cacked up for a few weeks.

fivecups wrote:What formation are we playing? 3-5-2?

I have watched the first forty five minutes with interest, and I must confess I couldn't tell you. There are a couplem of mysteries to me from watching the game. The formation is the first, where Ryan Babel is supposed to be playing is the second, and how we decided that David N'Gog was a viable replacement for Robbie Keane is the third.

All that said, if Torres is fit enough to come on we'll certainly win the game I think as long as he comes on while it's 0-0. Even if he doesn't, at some point we'll probably score.

My one worry is if Portsmouth wanted to put us under pressure they'd have to get Nugent to play closer to Crouch, and then get a central midfielder plus the guy off the left wing to arrive at about the same time as Glen Johnson hits Crouch diagonally from the right back slot, and we'll have real problems. As it's quite a simple thing to put into play, I'd worry about that a bit.

As a footnote, Glen Johnson has clearly developed out of all recognition over the last couple of seasons. I advocated signing him three seasons ago and turning him into a right midfielder. He could still be one, but he's a good full back now.

In the unlikely even that we're given 40 million quid to spend again in the Summer, whoever is in charge of the transfers    :laugh: sorry  :( could do a lot worse than spend 12 million quid of it on him. Love Arbie to bits and all that, but Johnson would instantly improve the first team. That used to be what it was all about when you spent big money on players, although with these new ideas I'm not sure it still applies.

Rorschach it is pretty annoying to be honest
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
