I see Gollum has been accusing refs of favouring us in Derbies aswell. I wonder if they'll be any accusations of him "losing the plot".

No, thought not. :Oo:

This is not the first time Rafa has alluded to this kind of thing, and it's one of the areas that I don't agree with him.

Many players over the years have been notoriously poor trainers, some very good players haven't been trainers at all due to injury and being nursed through for matches only. The idea that you pick your team based on what's going on on the training pitch is a newish one in England. Like some of the other ideas, I don't think it'll catch on to be honest.

Not sure it's that new. Didn't Shankly used to give youth players a broom and tell them to sweep the stadium? Those that didn't put the effort in were gone - it was all about the attitude.

As for Keane, it was probably a bit of both sides causing him not to settle. He doesn't play well = Rafa gets annoyed. He playes well but is subbed = Keane's annoyed so doesn't try hard in training = Rafa annoyed and doesn't pick him next game = Keane annoyed.......and so on

As for tonight's game, hopefully we'll get more chances as Everton will have to come out and play a bit more. This is the team I'd play (which won't happen!):

                         Reina

Carragher     Skrtel     Hyypia     Aurelio

                  Alonso     Masch
Benny Noon                             Riera

                        Gerrard

                        Torres

If we loose this game to a penalty caused by Lucas, I wonder whether Ciggy will be calling for Rafa's head again  :;):  :p

In all seriousness I am very very worried about this game, I just don't have a good felling about it at all, sorry to be negative, wish I could come on here and say I predict a win but I just don't.

If we win prepare for a pile up of fixtures.. To march on all fronts i feel we lack depth in the attacking department. Just a problem that we should have sorted in this months transfer window. If not a permanent buy atleast a loaned player would have been appreciated.
With the attacking department we have it really had to think we will do brill in all competitions.
Going to be a really tussle until the end of the season.
Anways even though i would prefer us not to win today, so we could decrease the fixture congestion, still want us to beat the bitters. Feckin they certain mates annoyed me like hell in the two draws.
Common you reds

You should want us to hammer the bitters every time we play them be it the champions league final or a testamonial!

This is the game we need to win, first and most importantly this is the FA Cup, its no consolation not winning it, secondly as has been said by many this is a derby, we need to shut the bitters big gobs up, (otherwise they will release another video  ).

We need to field a strong team, and i feel Nando has to play in this one, if not then it is time to put babel in his favoured position. Benayoun deserves a start in this one and it will not hurt if we put Pacheco on the bench.

Predicting a 3-1 win for us

I think he will play this side -

                          Reina

Arbeloa     Agger     Hyypia     Dossena

                 Lucas     Masch
Kuyt                                        Babel

                       Gerrard

                       Torres

As an experiment I would like to see

                         Reina

Arbeloa     Agger     Hyypia     Aurelio

                 Alonso     Gerrard
Babel                                      Riera

                  Kuyt    Torres

and at some stage late on, go to 4-5-1 again with Babel up top on his own...see how he does.

If this wasn't a derby I wouldn't give a toss if we lost.

Strange that Rafa was prepared to let Keane go to give Babel his chance of regular first team football..........
