EVERTON VS LIVERPOOL - F.a cup replay

Another match against the bitters after two consecutive draws. This is the third Merseyside derby that will be played in the space of just two weeks.
Everton ended a great run of results by losing at Old Trafford last weekend, while we have returned to the title race by beating Chelsea at Anfield.

After the morale boosting and much needed win against Chelsea which ended the four-match winless run in all competitions.

Our players spirits will be illuminated and up for a tough contest.

Bitters have played four very difficult matches in the last two weeks and the players are desperately in need of rest.
New on loan Jo will be cup-tied for this match so wont get a taste yet of life under gollum.

Tough match to call as it is at goodison and everton will be up for it without a doubt. I doubt they will play defensively and i presume they will go for it.

With torres hitting the goals again seems like its the right place for him to score again in which he hit two at goodison back in september.
Also with keanes departure i think the team will move on and forget about that fiasco.

Considering we have pompy 3 days later i could see rafa chopping and changing. Rafa will try to win this game as well, but his main focus is on the Premier League and he will rest some of the first team regulars. Thus, Babel, Lucas, Dossena, Hyppia and Agger are likely to take some part in this match, while keeper Cavalieri could also replace Pepe Reina.

Possible line up......

                     Cavalieri

arby          hyypa     agger     dossena

               macha        lucas

benny                                             riera

                     Gerrard

                      Torres

Will be an interesting one considering everton have been fairly decent at home. Got a slight glitch will nick it 2-1

Head to heads at goodison

Could be a late one. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it went to extra time and penalties.

Although local fans won't see it this way, it could really do our league challenge a favour if we don't win this. That said, I think we probably will. Everton haven't got a proper striker, and although they despite that managed to draw with us twice, we have much better players and team than them and sooner or later we'll show it.

I quoted the line because I liked it. I don't know if you meant to say the players spirits were "illuminated", but I like it anyway it's kind of lyrical.

Torres must start surely? His tail will be up after the game on Sunday and the last thing he needs is a rest. He needs games.

I would like to see Bennayoun and El Zhar start over Riera and Kuyt.  Would be nice to see Pacheco make the bench, he has been playing well especially in the last couple of games for the reserves, he is even starting to look a bit stockier but not by a lot.  I also want to see Agger or Sami feature, and it would be nice to see Darby make the bench.  Lucas is likely to replace Mascherano I would think as well.

We need to put this one to bed. Ive had enough of playing the bitters and will be glad to see the back of them. Nando must start and Id give Benny a game as well as he seems to be hitting a nice run of form

It will be a very tough hard fought game but if we score first i think we can go on to win this one 3-0. Everton are not that good of a team

You sure about that? I'm sure ITV announced proudly after the first game that the replay was on ITV1.
