Mate , it's my first season , i'd cleared out some deadwood ( Keane, Pennant and a few others) and used the money to sign some really exciting prospects Tony Kroos (Bayern) Alexis Sanchez (Udinese) Bojan (Barcelona) and Leo (Gremio) , was really looking forward to watching their development.
Tip to any other FM 2009 managers, take a look at the profile on these players.

Controls like your wading through blancmange? Think i'll pass on that one.

I think Capcom are somewhat reluctant, or even afraid, to try and change the feel and control of the series. It was a great departure for them to change it so drastically with RE 4 and feel that the formula there worked so well in their favor and the risk paid off for them, so maybe they felt no change was needed. It does feel dated and clunky, but it's in keeping with the classic RE feel. Still, walking, or even running while aiming and shooting would have been nice.
Presentation wise, this game is second to none IMO. Easily some of the best graphics to date on any format, and the in-engine cut scenes look almost pre-rendered quality. People can bang on about KZ2 and how it looks. For me this is as good as if not better looking.
No doubt the game will turn out to be a real classic this generation. I think it'll be a mistake on your behalf to give this one a miss.

Try starting over again on legendary with a team like Rochdale or Chester. It's more fun building your team up from nothing into a league winning outfit.

Did you get a fair amount of screen tearing as well?
Im not sure how far off going gold the software is, but i would hope (as the mention at the title screen admittedly said) that some of these 'bugs' are able to be eradicated before March. Presentation was indeed fantastic....though that alone doesn't make a great game. Look at AC.
I'll give it another shot some time i think, to be a bit fairer. It also doesn't pay to be too hasty i suppose either. It just 'felt' awkward.

I did notice some, aye. Though that could be just down to sloppy conversion of the Jap demo. This build is fairly old as well I'd say. I've seen that location, level and cut scenes since over 2 years ago. If you've seen the most recent trailer of it, it looks amazing and should be one of those games where you play for the surprise and to simply see what happens next, just like the original back in 1996. Personally, I think Capcom should bring back the old shambling Zombie again, only this time have them in their hundreds like Dead Rising, and bring it back to it's roots with refined controls.
