My brothers got a Nintendo Wii. I had a go of Resident Evil 4. More interactive yes, but it gets tiring. And its not as fun as I thought it would be. I tried the boxing game and the bowling one and a few others. After having a try on his I decided against getting one. When I play games I like to relax while doing so, not risking having to sit down through exhaustion !

Wiis are the slag of the gaming world IMO,cheap and easy, everyone has had a go but no one wants to be with her long term..Wiis would take it up the rear no sweat, women like wiis at the start but after a while they get bored of it and want a 360 because wiis are really actually shi'te!Plus they realise they dont make you loose weight and wii fit is :censored:! :nod

I agree. Nintendo really sold their soul and sold out on the people that really made them the company what they are today. They've realized that most of their fan base are now adults and have jumped ship to MS or Sony because those two companies over the years have catered for more adult themed games. However, that doesn't mean that they should have went all cheap and casual. I bought a Wii thinking it would be a fresh idea and reinvent how I felt about playing games again. I've played Wii Sports (fun for a bit), Zelda TP, which is one of the best games I've ever played, and Mario Galaxy, which was great, but didn't recapture the feeling Mario 64 had, and to be honest, no game ever will. That's two Nintendo flagship titles on a machine that's made by Nintendo that I've only really been bothered to play on it. I've owned every console they've made, and three games for one of their machines is pathetic. Apart from Metroid - which I might pick up - there's nothing. Nintendo are officially f*cking shlt now. It's time they stopped making consoles. I'd love to have seen what a Mario game would be like on a 360 or PS3. It also looks as if the days of really fun game design are well and truly over. The kids these days have missed out big time.

Oh, and I also hate the c*nts for the one reason that they blocked the Xbox 360 Arcade remake of arguably the best game ever made; Goldeneye. F*CK YOU NINTENDO! I was looking forward to that game all over again to play on Live. You complete c*nts!

Wii's are perfect for when the lads are round, a couple go out in the poker and they play the wii, brilliant for drunken betting and stuff, just a laugh machine but i like them.

I suppose that's true. Though the controllers are far too expensive. You pay far more for the privilege of multi-player than you do for the actual console itself. For that kind of fun, nothing touched the old N64. Absolutely nothing. Four mates playing at the same time on a game round a TV use to be some amazing craic. I miss them days.

The game must be played with mates online. It's easily one of the most fun games online there is. Don't play it by yourself because it's not the same. Worth getting, but at a knock down price. Flog it on once yer bored with it, but it'll be a fantastic experience while it lasts.

cheers mate will get it

Metroid Prime is a great game on Wii. MarioKart is decent. Throw in the two obvious ones...ZTP and SMG and thats about....your lot regards worthy titles. I probably regret buying the console if im being honest, although the kids have a blast now and again. Rare though.

Where do you order them for that price..website please??

Play.com mostly Baz.

Sendit.com (based in Belfast I think) is also good for bargains but they make a lot of mistakes with orders and terrible to deal with.

I rarely - if ever - pay full price for a game and if you wait a couple of months most games can be bought for about £15 to £25.

I'm always up for some team death-match if we're ever on at the same time mate. It's not as good as 5 but am still loving it except for a few of the levels, i have to duck out of 'dome' coz it sucks, it's like 6 vs 6 in a living room.

Spending more hours watching television or playing video games as a teenager may lead to depression in young adults, according to a study published Monday.

Researchers looked at the exposure to electronic media of 4,142 adolescents who were not depressed when the study began in 1995, before DVDs and the Internet were widely used.

The teens reported an average of 5.68 hours of media exposure per day, including 2.3 hours of television, 2.34 hours of radio, 0.62 hours of videocassettes and 0.41 hours of computer games.

Seven years later, when the participants were an average of 21.8 years old, 308 of them (7.4 percent) had developed symptoms consistent with depression.

"In the fully adjusted models, participants had significantly greater odds of developing depression by follow-up for each hour of daily television viewed," wrote the authors of the study published in the Archives of General Psychiatry journal.
"In addition, those reporting higher total media exposure had significantly greater odds of developing depression for each additional hour of daily use," said the study, led by Brian Primack of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Young women were found to be less likely to develop symptoms of depression than young men when exposed to the same amount of electronic media.

Depression, the leading cause of non-fatal disability worldwide, commonly begins in adolescence or young adulthood, the article explained.

The authors noted that time spent engaging with electronic media may replace time that could be spent on social, athletic or intellectual activities that could guard against depression.
Messages transmitted through electronic media may encourage aggression, inspire fear or anxiety and hamper identity development, they added.

Being exposed to media at night may also disrupt sleep important for emotional and cognitive development.
"When high amounts of television or total exposure are present, a broader assessment of the adolescent's psychosocial functioning may be appropriate, including screening for current depressive symptoms and for the presence of additional risk factors," the authors said.

"If no other immediate intervention is indicated, encouraging patients to participate in activities that promote a sense of mastery and social connection may promote the development of protective factors against depression."
