Wigan are in good form - won six of their last seven league games, p1sses me off that they're in the kind of form we should be in.

BUT the mancs have played Wigan seven times and beaten them seven times in all competitions throughout history (six in the league, once in the league cup and all 2005/06 onwards)

if we're looking at wigan and bolton to take points off man united in order to keep top spot then we are clutching at straws. both teams are capable of raising their game and putting up a decent fight but the mancs seem to be building their customary momentum and look full of confidence, a confidence that will be brimming after humiliating chelsea the other day.

its more than likely that when we play everton on monday we'll be the second place team. but then its also more than likely that by the time the game has finished we'll be top again.

I think the best we can hope for from those opponents is they fight hard, maybe score one goal and we can hope they hold onto a clean sheet via the mancs having an off day - or keeping them down to one. Realistically I doubt many on here really believe they will score two against the mancs, except maybe in a 5-2 defeat. They could both fold pretty quickly, the mancs have a nasty habit of looking hopeless (like us) but pulling rabbits out of hats late on and taking the points.

Best we can hope for is a lucky 1-0 win or a lucky draw, if the mancs turn up then those will be forelorn

be sure of this though folks

if the scores in either match are deadlocked with 15 mins to go, you can be sure of one thing

ronaldo will spend more time on his back than a stuck whore claiming everything from fouls and penalties, to social security benefits. mark my words!!

Well we did increase the gap with the draw against Stoke (as indeed I suppose we did when we drew with them at Home as well) but time will tell if by not increasing it more than we did, we shot ourselves in the foot. I know many people ran around the forum damping down the fires of dissent with a sledgehammer after each missed opportunity (particularly at Home), but it is beginning to look like the draws may come to haunt us in the end.

The biggest shame of all is that we have gone from concieveably going to Old Trafford and playing for a draw, knowing even a defeat wouldn't be terminal, to looking like we are going to likely need to win there. IMHO the pace is about to hot up considerably, the jockeying for position is over and the bell has rung. We are in the early stages of the sprint for the finish (or at least the Mancs are anyway) and the challenge for us over the next 6-8 games is to stay in contention. It won't be easy as they will win most of theirs. If we don't do the same it may not go down to the wire, or even to the half furlong pole.

Indeed Lynds, and they haven't got the luxury of being able to stick Dirky Boy up top to replace their best striker. Suppose they'll have to make do with playing the bloke they bought in the Summer to cover for such an eventuality instead (Berbatov). I know it's a bit 1970's (particularly as he's scored a few goals recently) but that's what I reckon they'll have to resort to the poor b@stards. :D .

Stuck this in here i nearly chocked on me tea with laughing reading this, is he :censored: dilusional. There fans are better at getting behind them than we are pmsl here

DARREN Fletcher believes the Stretford End has the title advantage over Liverpool's Kop and can swing the Premier League race in United's favour.

Old Trafford could play a crucial role as the battle for the title intensifies. And midfielder, Fletcher, insists Reds' fans hold the aces in the off-field psychological war with the Anfield support.

Reds fans have experienced 10 championship triumphs since the 1993 Premier League breakthrough. They have also been through the agonies of losing out in six title fights.

Liverpool haven't been champions since 1990 - pre-Premier League. And as United face another potential nail-biting night against Wigan this evening Fletcher insists the Stretford End have the pedigree to see the champions over the line again come May.

Chase

Having damaged Chelsea's title hopes last Sunday now the attention turns to hotting up the chase with league leaders Liverpool.

"We have the experience of having been there and done it," said Fletcher. "Liverpool maybe don't and that might bring a bit more pressure.

"But that doesn't mean they cannot handle it. However, the good thing about it is our fans have been in this position before. They have handled the pressure.

"It might be a close game going into the last 10 minutes but you still have to be patient. You have to be able to take chances.

"It is about the club; the staff, manager, players and supporters who have been there. They know what it is like to be chasing a title and drawing a match with 10 minutes to go.

"That is when the patience side of things comes into play. You just have to keep playing the right way believing the chance will come.

"You have to be ready to take it. That is what we have gained over the last few years, long before I came here. The fans are understanding in that respect."

Another 1-0 win for mannure..fackin great that 9 this season now in all comps. In premiership its thier 6th.. Thats the difference united could still get something great out of games they play shyte in. Really annoys me. Even though rooney will be out for a few weeks i still could see mannure winning games.  They only way i could see us win the prem is if we win 95% of our games otherwise i really doubt it we got what it takes.

I still don't feel Rafa can win the league with his style of play, it's too negative.  I hope I'm wrong.

So rather than progress, we HAVE to win the league?

Shut up and grow up. :no

It's been tried, but it's a free country/forum

Correction. It's a free Country/forum if you wish to insult and belittle the gaffer.

It's a free forum if you wish to ridicule posters who support the people we should be supporting.

It's a free forum if you agree with certain posters.

It's a free forum if you munch on the bottoms of the whining, miserable, doom-mongering ingrates who fail to grasp just how difficult it is to win the Premiership.
