its an old riddle easy to solve. its the ones i have not seen before that befuddle me. therefore, knowing the answer from before is kinda cheating, but no way googling.

I am back for my riddles, Had a bloody meeting in Southend yesterday omg what a boot. left at 8 am didn't
get back till 8.30pm never again.

You want to send a valuable object to a friend.

You have a box which is more than large enough to contain the object. You have several locks with keys. The box has a locking ring which is more than large enough to have a lock attached. But your friend does not have the key to any lock that you have.

How do you do it?

Note that you cannot send a key in an unlocked box, since it might be copied.

i would put the valuable item in the box and attach my own padlock through the boxes hasp. then send the box to my friend who attaches his own padlock through the same hasp. my friend would then send the box back to me. then i would remove my padlock and return the box to my friend, with my friend's padlock still attached. my friend then unlocks his padlock and removes the valuable item.
