bag 'o' bingo an off we go!

I am only up to level two, but I am finding it hard going , bit boring upto now.

Personally I'm loving it!  :pirate

I don't think its got very intuitive controls, and I picked the lock without really knowing wtf I was doing, same with hacking the comp to open the door. I am running about with my gun out because I have no idea how to put it away or get it out again, AND the fkn compass is cr@p! I was running around for ages trying to find the way out, while everyone was shooting me.

I have reached the town with the big bomb, hopefully things can only get better.

:D

Things have got a lot better! Really starting to enjoy the game now, still dont like the compass but apart from that things are going well. Killed about 5 Raiders and a dozen or so fire ants.

I really need a manual though. Anyone know where I can download one?

Er, try buying a copy.  :D

I'm about 15 hours in, have ignored the main quest so far and just exploring.

The combat can be a small bit clunky in first person mode to begin with as the enemies are insanely hard (particularly in hard mode) and you can't head shot kill them. However as you level up its easier to play in first person mode as your shots do more damage and its easier to aim.

I love the depth of these games with loads of little side quests and messing about with repairing and building items. However so far on Hard mode I am having a real problem with conserving ammunition and Fallout 3 is definitely different with Oblivion in that regard.

As for the compass Saint, there will most likely be a mod for that quite soon.

If I continue to enjoy the game over the next couple of days I MAY ACTUALLY BUY IT. I did buy Oblivion and Morrowind even though I originally had copies obtained from other sources! I rarely play a game long enough for it to be worth my while buying it in truth. I have tried Crysis/M.O.H./C.O.D and Far cry and never got past the first couple of levels before giving up (I may give Far Cry another go sometime)

I am doing the same as you JBG, just doing a few side quests while I level up. I am doing the fire ant quest at the moment, you will need plenty ammo for them mate! I haven't built anything yet, but I have repaired a couple of weapons.

The only thing I have found really irritating so far, is that I keep getting messages flashing on the screen when I am in the middle of combat and can't get time to read them..... and of course that fkn compass :D

I finished BIA Hell's Highway the other day. It's an impressive game once you get into it, one of the best WWII shooters I've played. I also managed to bag over 600 achievement points without trying.
I've now started Dead Space which is shaping up well. I'm finding the close-up over-the-shoulder view a little awkward though.

I have been playing the Strawberry demo for a few hours now. Loving the new 3D game mode. Looks a bit cack at first kind of like Fifa 97 but after a while its great. Although I seem to be having awful injury problems. I've done some googling and it seems im not alone on the injury problem either. Hopefully they will iron it out in the final version.

I have GEARS 2 just sitting there waiting to be played which I bought on Friday, which has to be a first for me ever  to buy and let something sit for so long without really going near it, and I've played just a we bit of Far Cry 2. I want to play co-op in gears once my cousin gets it, as I loved the experience of doing that with Halo 3. It's just a lot more fun that way. I'm wanting to buy Fall Out 3 and Fable 2 as well son, but recently I just haven't been to enthusiastic. I still haven't completed Oblivion yet, and I've ben cracking away at that for about a year now on and off. So many great games coming to the 360 at the minute, and Alan Wake should be another belter.

My friend and I were playing co-op gears last night, so much fun.  Put it on the hardest difficulty available and it posed a challenge, but I think anything other then it would of been too easy.  Really fun game, and we havn't even touched the non co-op multiplayer yet.
