Been reading a few forums about computer games, best baddies, worst baddies, best games played, worst game played and it got me wondering, and hopefully you lot too ! What game have you played that just made you say "WOW!". The game you tried, never heard off and it impressed you no end.

For me it was Flashback on the megadrive. It was unique at the time for the kind of play it offered, a platform kind of game that kept you engrossed in the story line.

Whats your "WOW" game ?

Altered beast on the Sega Megadrive and Robocop (cant remember what console).
Asteroids on the Atari,way back then was probably one of the most addictive games ever!

I'm undergoing a self imposed ban on new games at the moment. I'm dying to buy Dead Space and Far Cry 2, but I've got a back log of unfinished games. I'm determined to finish at least two before purchasing a new title.
I'm currently working my way through BIA Hell's Highway at the moment. I wasn't sure of this game at first, I found the controls we're a bit awkward. A reconfiguration of the controls has sorted this, and now I'm finding it much better. You've really got to think in this game. It's not like most FPSs where you can run in Gung Ho, you've got to suss out your surroundings and keep your men alive. You've got a real sense of reality.

As for Wow games Kharhaz, mines got to be Portal.

You can get PORTAL off XBLA now Neil - 1200 points    Still worth it though imo.

Anyone do that online fifa 09 mode club creation or something?

It looks interesting, but I have no idea about getting into a club that actually plays.  The ones you can join have like 2 people in it, and the ranked ones that do actually play have their greetings messages as :

OFF.

Maybe we should make a newkit squad, play one game, and call it a year?

I'm in a squad, mostly guys from UK so my playing time doesn't match theirs so i've only played like 10 games out of 60 or so but they are on a lot.  If you don't play like a fool they would probably take you into the squad team is called Liverpool n that or something.  Let me know if you're interested i'll talk to the "manager" of the squad... Except it's for PS3 and not 360 sooo yeah

There are too many good games coming out at the moment! Its summer, I'm meant to be outside! I just got Fifa 09 and Fable 2. Soon there'll be Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Call of Duty 5 and Football Manager 2009! I logged up 7 solid days of gametime on one save game of FM08 alone

After reading the reviews I think I'm going to get Fallout3 on PC instead of X360. Its got significantly better graphics and (just as important) its got achievements which carry over to your Live account.

I have almost 400 computer games.....all originals, and probably another 100 abandonware golden oldies.

I'll post a pic of my collection when I get home.

In October I'm going to put together a killer machine, which will be along the lines of:

2 x Nvidia 7800GTX in SLI mode or possibly 2 x ATI 520s in cross fire mode

2 x 76 Gig Raptors in RAID 0 configuration

Unfortunately, I'll probably have to drop around €2500 notes on that baby but it'll blow any other PCs out of the water.

Also, I'm going to convince my girlfriend to get me an Xbox 360 for Christmas!
