Shouldn't we make an Atletico thread first?   :D

I want to come out of here with 1 point, anything more and I will be extremely greatful.  Hopefully they try to tackle Alonso.

Apparently IF we beat them then we get to consider ourselves "real title contenders"  ( yippeee  ) and if we dont its another year of not quite good enough. Or if we beat them its a case of "they had their second team playing due to injuries". The best thing we can do is to go there and lose and, this is the best bit, maybe then we can sneak our way to winning the title without anyone in the media starting to believe that this is Liverpools year and therefore our players becoming complacent and also believing they can win it

Pearls of wisdom from a Chelsea workmate ???

Too early to say what the line-up will be and therefore the tactics - will Nando be fit ?

Lets wait and see if we get any more injuries in the Madrid game. I would have thought with all their own injury problems Chelsea would perhaps struggle somewhat but they seem to be on fire so it's a tough one to call. Honestly I would be happy coming out with a point.

Agreed.

I'm presently drawing up the teamsheet. Will you organise the tactics?

Much as Im looking forward to the A Madrid game I expect us to win it.In reality though we could afford to loose it and we still should'nt have a problem qualifying. But we wont,no disrespect to them!

The Chelsea game is massive. Two top clubs in the League early as it is,its still a huge game!
Someone has to beat them at the bridge and why not us.I've watched them this season as at times I'm sure we all have.yes they have played very well and some great football(better than us overall it has to be said) but that is irrelevant as only goal difference seperates us.
The win they had at the weekend flattered them bigtime.I dont know what Gareth Southgates plan was but it was a lesson on how not to play Chelsea!
FFS Boro gave them all the space in the world,it was pick your pass time for anyone who got the ball in a blue shirt!

I dont know what Rafas game plan will be but I sure as hell hope he does not tell them to sit back.Give them space on the ball and they will punish you.
I hope we get into them from the whistle and fight for every ball, give them as little room as possible.A few early hard(but clean):D  tackles would'nt go a miss either.
I've read some on here saying its not a game we really expect to win...Well why the hell not?A draw of course would be better for us than them given they are at home. But I fully expect us to be up for this game and believe we can win it.
Its a cliche, but its 11vs11 and if we are up for it and they all give 100% a win is very possible!

I don't want to be negative, but any kind of a result here would do.

How long since they got beat at home ?

If the stars are in alignmnet, and the wind blows in the right direction, then maybe, just maybe....

So do ya want the players just to show up and make a presence like most teams do at the Bridge??
Bet yer a$$ that our boys will be up for it..and give them a game.No point thinking we cant win this, and its not"happy clappy" to suggest that.
Theres no point playing football if you have an inferiority complex..cause you wont win!The players wont be thinking any result will do.they will be going for the win
Chelsea wont be looking forward to us coming there either.Get fuc'kin in to them!! :buttrock

To right,

Ruffle some feathers, Terry sent off, Nando off the bench 1-0 Back up to Anfield with three points:cool:

If only it was that easy :p

We all we can do is turn up and just go for it. If we start off well then I think a result is achievable. However Chelsea are one of tyhose where they will just play you off the park if you dont show up, especially this term.

I believe if we have the right mind set then yes we can get something. This aint Stalingrad after all, its a game of football!
