It looks just f*cking atrocious. As an artist myself, I find it beggars belief that those working on this game's visuals find this acceptable. Look at the state of this. Pure dung. I've seen PS2 games on par, if not better looking than this dross. Shame on you, Konami.

High res is at the bottom of that link. What the f*ck? What is going on here? Why does Pepe have builder's gloves on for keeper gloves?

I always thought Fifa's graphic is 10 times better than the pro evo one.

Fifa 09, looks fantastic graphically, I havn't tried the gameplay yet, just waiting for it to come out to buy it, but how is it different than the one from fifa 08?

OK, here's my advice. Ignore places like WENB because most people on there, including the main host, Adam, are just biased fan boy pricks who don't like anything negative said about their beloved PES. I grew up playing PES. I know my sh*t as much as any so called w@nker who thinks they are an expert because they run a PES site. The game is now terribly aged in every single department. You can even tell this just by looking at how ridiculously clunky it looks in gameplay videos, and how starved it is of a proper current gen luster in pictures. However, all this is only made apparent only by how fantastic everything is with EA's latest game. It really does put PES in a pale light if you are a lover of true football. To put it mildly, you probably will never see a better true-to-life representation of the sport from any other developer this generation. It's simply light years ahead  of PES, although some might disagree with that, and initially when picking up the pad to play it for the first time, you might do to. However, bear with it. It's a lot slower pace than what you are used to in PES, but that's only because it's more like the real sport, literally. The main difference between 08 and 09 is the fact that it emulates patterns of play that you normally see developing during a real game of football. Players have a lot more control and space, and as a result, you feel like you have a total command of your little idols on the screen. You really do feel the difference with the likes of Nesta, as opposed to Robbin or Kaka on the ball. Passing, shooting, and control are truly responsive, but not so much where it becomes unrealistic. Forget what these moaning c*nts have been saying around the net about the demo, and how this and that is unrealistic. Their protestations are just a result of playing something that is alien to them in a football game, that soon becomes second nature the more you play, and thus the catch 22, because the downfall of the demo is that it last only two minutes - barely enough time to get into the game. But play game after game, and it will all suddenly make sense as to why Fifa 09 will be the greatest football sim ever created.

The main problems are ones that I picked up on after one play through, and that is that it's just far too easy. Even ramping up the difficulty, which helps a bit, can't save it from the fact that it's just far too unbalanced for it to work. It becomes tedious, which I'd hoped the final game wouldn't. Looks like the SNES games are still the best ones even to this day.

Megaman Soccer  :D

Never even knew that existed. Was it any good?

I thought it was great fun, pick different bosses for your formations.  Or in story mode every time you won a match they would join your side.  Special shots were cool, and the fact you had a restricted amount was fair.  However there was a few "hot" spots, were you would never miss.  But I know them, so I say its fun  :D .

My xbox died a month or two ago, and I decided to let microsoft just fix it.  Do you get the free fixes over there?  I'd do it fast, the lineup coming up is looking great.  Fable 2, Gears 2, Lotr Conquest, and probably some others that are slipping my mind.  All for the better, I don't have the time or cash for these >.<

Fifa games are and always will be second place to PES. Every year i hear how EA have really changed the game and made it ultra realistic, and how it will be better the PES. Then i play it and it's the same completly average football game, with average graphics, rigid gameplay and poorly researched players.

Pro evo for me everytime, never fails to deliver and is consistently good every year, the only thing Fifa has on PES is the official licences.

PES has basically gone backwards. Say what you like, think what you like, but this is a fact. I've been a PES player since the first games 10 years ago, and they were progressing right up until PES 4, but after that one, they all started being the same. Actually, the last one I truly got into was PES 3 on the PS2, but I found myself not really interested in newer ones as the years went on. I wondered why. Thing is, they've been running out of ideas, and Konami often insisted on doing daft things like including nice little features, and then in the newer version taking them out. The first 360 effort was a complete joke, as the PS2 version was far superior with added modes and features it didn't have. Teams were stripped from it, as were kits, balls, etc etc. PES 2008 came out, and all of a sudden people's eyes were opened, when it was obvious to me a few years before it what was going on. The series was side stepping, going backwards, and sidestepping some more. Never going forwards, especially with the new consoles. PES 2008 on current gen systems was an absolute disgrace and should never have made it to gold status for retail. The PS2 versions were again vastly superior with smoother gameplay and touches like extra modes etc etc. This may be acceptable to blind fan boys, but not someone like me who expected the series to take on a new lease of life with newer consoles. As it stands, last gen versions are better. Go play PES 2 or 3, then play 2008 on a 360/PS3. Night and day gameplay experience. They hacked and hacked at the game due to lack of ideas, utterly destroying the feel of the game and has become very arcade-like. Also, the visuals for the current systems are a complete joke, and I don't care what anyone has to say about it. They are unacceptable IMO. PES is still running a last gen engine on technology designed to run something that is 3 or 4 times more capable, but Konami obviously aren't willing to spend on resources to improve the development of the series which is a massive shame. I find it odd that people are willing to still accept last gen style visuals, coupled with gameplay that isn't even on par with previous PES titles, and still think it's beating Fifa, which TBH is a generation ahead both visually, and technically with physics and currently AI. Everything Fifa 09 does, is just simply a level above everything PES is doing and has done. People complain about slow gameplay, well, football can be that way you know. It's a total sim, not an arcade title like PES has become. It's a shame, but this is how it is. You just have to open your eyes to it.

"Borrowing" my room mates Force Unleashed, one thing I enjoyed was the storyline.  I took Emeralds advice and immeditley put it on the hardest difficulty, and I can't believe that was it!  Still fun though, the boss battles always seem to be challenging enough.  Almost like NG2, but overall easier  :D
