I know he's gone on loan, but given we lost a striker last week I would have probably held onto him. As St Michael says he may well improve playing as an out and out striker.

I would like to see Mista sign before January, we need him now.

Looks like the Alonso deal is done and dusted, thats a solid midfield now.

Kewell   Alonso   Gerrard   Nunez

Looks great on paper. :D

Liverpool are set to complete the transfer of Xabi Alonso some time this week after the player agreed to the proposed terms.

The 22-year-old midfielder is set to sign a five-year deal at Anfield after the Reds agreed a fee in the region of £11million with Real Sociedad.

Alonso's agent, Inaki Ibanez, confirmed that their part of the transfer had been completed and that it was now between the clubs to conclude some minor details.

"The crossing of Xabi Alonso to Liverpool practically is done," he told skysports.com.

"On the part of the player everything is closed and now there are only small details between clubs to be done."

The deal will be a major boost for the Reds, with Real Madrid having reportedly also reignited their pursuit of the player following Patrick Vieira's decision to stay at Arsenal.

You will find that is in Euros. It will work out at around 10.7 million English pounds i think.

Have faith.

RB is only going to buy players who will work for the good -not prima donnas.

What high price quality players did GH bring in? Can't think of any. His best buys were the cheap ones - Hyppia, Henchoz, McAllister, even Kewell.

Barca have released saviolla should we put in a bid for him as we need a striker?
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
