Oh ffs Dawson if you were anymore straight up you would be a lampost mate! :D

There are loads of athletes throughout the world that have done drugs and been banned and are now back in the sport!
Yes he done drugs,it was wrong........But hes been banned and humiliated.
There will be athletes at the games that have been done for drugs and banned before and are allowed to compete.
Britain just have a tougher stance on it than other countries.
If other countries can field ex cheats so can Britain.

Why am i even talking about this anyway,i dont even like athletics! :D

I voted no but have sympathy to Judges argument about another chance, but I think that at some point we have to get tough on drugs in sport or completly ignore it which would end up as disastorous.

Britain is the only country to state that any drug users cannot go to the olympics and if that means we dont get a 100m medal it does mean that we have taken a stance.

Sport should try to avoid politics but they do clash.  I can see the pop stars argument but it is simplistic as they are completely different. Chambers deliberately took substances and I feel sorry for him but he should not go as it sends a message.  If other countries buckle then we can honestly say that we are clean and that is the spirit of the olympics more than anything else

I agree with Daws on this No hes a cheat disrepected the sport and his fellow athletes.

He owned up to it yes but he got caught would he have opened his mouth if he hadnt been ccaught ,not a chance,

Look at the other lads who lost there medals because of him maybe they wont get another chance to win a medal again.

I watched an interview with him an Steve Redgrave ages ago an he even admitted when he was asked whether a clean athlete was likely to beat one using drugs in an Olympic final, he said
It's possible, but the person that's taken drugs has to be having a real bad day.

So why he going then if hes got no chance of beating another drugs cheat.

So the answer is no he shouldnt go for me,
HE WHO BETRAYS WILL ALWAYS WALK ALONE

I'm with MJ on this, the BOA bylaw should stand and Chambers shouldn't be allowed to compete in Beijing.

It's not as if athletes aren't made aware of consequences of committing a doping offence. If you enter into Athletics you sure as sh!t know you shouln't take performance enhancing drugs and you well know the consequences. He was well aware of the laws, which he accepted prior to getting caught, and he's now challenging one such law. That's not on; you either accept the rules of the sport or you don't get into it in the first place.

Even the two-year ban which he served is open to questioning given that morphological changes induced by anabolic steroids are very long lasting, 'perhaps life long' - according to a recent university study. Certainly if you analysed the testimony of retired body builders who've taken Anabolic steroids, they'd confirm as much.

It's a legal matter at the end of the day, and I don't know the intricacies of the case, but the principle of; upon acceptance of a set of rules you accept the consequences and don't challenge them, should be upheld.

Getting rid of this bylaw will only serve to prove that the collective will is more offended by stiff penalties for cheating, than by cheating itself.

British sprinter Dwain Chambers will not be able to run at the Olympic Games after he lost his attempt to overturn his lifetime ban.

The 30-year-old took his case to secure an injunction against the British Olympic Association by-law to the High Court, but the ruling went against him.

Under BOA rules, the sprinter was banned from future Games after testing positive for the steroid THG in 2003.

The 30-year-old had argued that the ban was an unfair restraint of trade.

that settles that

I think its a joke that chambers cant run.  He served his ban, whats the problem?  Carl Myerscough is not banned for life even though he tested positive for the Juice.  Christine Ohuruogu missed 3 drug tests which to me is as good as being tested positive yet she aint banned.

But when it comes to music it's just part of the life style!! Do me a f'ckin favour young kids look up to these wan..kers, but they still get praised by all the kn.obs that love thier music, what kind of f'ckin role models are they? if one person is tarnished with a brush or type of music then so should the f'ckin lot of them.

Nearly forgot to add all of the above is me having a paddy, but to me it makes sense, there none of this drug taking sh..it is right in my books as i have never taken coke or steriods in my life and work hard in the gym to acheive what i got, but at the end of the day if you punish people in the public eye for drug taking punish the whole lot of them and not just one set fo people, because in my honest opinion it's all just as bad.
