The most funny thing is how the lyrics of the song do not match in Spanish whatsoever. I can't even understand bits of it.

Then the bull you see at the beginning, is something that's very spanish. It was and old advert from a spirits brand, but, it became so familiar in the roads of Spain, that people wanted them to stay that way as part of the landscape. The turn of the camera of what could have been a Spanish road, to the Liverpool docks sign, was brilliant.

Torres pledges long-term future to Reds - Soccernet

Updated: May 31, 2008, 12:32 PM UK

Prolific striker Fernando Torres insists it will be 'many years' before he considers leaving Liverpool.

The Spaniard enjoyed a dream debut season at Anfield following his transfer from Atletico Madrid last summer, finding the net 24 times in the Premier League alone.  His eye-catching displays have seen Torres linked with a host of the continent's biggest sides, with Chelsea in particular rumoured to be lining up a £50million swoop.

But Torres, who is currently with the Spain squad as they prepare for Euro 2008, is adamant he will not leave Reds boss Rafael Benitez in the lurch.  'It is an honour to be linked to clubs like Barcelona, Chelsea, or Arsenal - but I am not thinking about a change and I want to continue playing for Liverpool for many years to come.'

The 24-year-old added: 'It's been quite easy for me. I have been able to enjoy every minute at a club where things have gone well. 'I have been part of a team where every player shares the same goals and where a player can rely on the support of his team-mates.

'I have also worked with a manager who believed in me. It was the combination of all these factors.'

****************************

Hopefully (but unlikely) this will put an end to Roman Abromovich's pursuit.

Hicks rules out Nando switch - Do we believe him?

Tom Hicks has rubbished speculations that the club could be selling Fernando Torres to Chelsea for a huge profit. The Spanish superstar has been linked with a big money move to Chelsea this week, but he has dismissed the speculation and committed himself to Liverpool.

“There is no price at which we would consider selling Fernando Torres,” said Hicks.

“The Chelsea rumours in the media are total rubbish,” he added.

I wouldn't get too worked up Nan (this time).  Either Hicks has 'picked up the lingo' (a not unreasonable assumption, I suppose, after over a year of dealing with Englishmen) or the Echo is doing what papers seem to do a lot of: paraphrasing the remarks and quoting them as though they came from the horse's mouth directly as is.  Hicks, for instance, may have said that "The Chelsea rumours in the media are a load of horse pucky" ( :D ) and the Echo (or whoever it was he was speaking to) just opted to 'translate' that comment into a more recognizable phrase for English readers.  It's not unlike reading interviews done with Torres or any of the Spanish lads (obviously with the help of translaters) and reading remarks like "fair dos to the gaffer, he's taken a punt on me and I'm well chuffed to be wearing the red shirt, la." :D

This is why i still love Little Luis

From LFC TV

GARCIA: TORRES HAS SCOUSE SPIRIT

Paul Hassall 28 June 2008

Luis Garcia believes Fernando Torres and Liverpool are a match made in heaven and has singled out the Spain international's 'scouse spirit' as the reason behind his phenomenal first season on Merseyside.
The Former Reds forward, who swapped Anfield for Atletico last summer, says he did not have to convince El Nino to join the club ahead of his record-breaking move to L4 and can already see that he has established a special bond with Reds supporters.

"I didn't have to sell anything to him because I didn't need to," Garcia told LFC's Magazine's 'The Torres Story.'

"Liverpool is one of the best cities I have ever been to with some of the most passionate people. Fernando already knew about this spirit and soul beforehand and I think that was one of the main reasons why he signed for Liverpool.

"Fernando understands that if you have something in common with the people you are playing for, it can only be to the benefit of the team.

"I have spoken to him quite a lot since the start of last season. Whenever I call him I always start the talk in English.

"I say things like 'How are you,' then he will respond in English. The first time he did it, it surprised me, because he had only just moved.

"But Fernando is a quick learner, so really, I shouldn't be surprised.

"Fernando has the spirit of a scouser, so one day maybe he'll start talking like you lot!"

Despite knowing all about the differences between La Liga and the Premier League, Garcia insists El Nino's 33-goal haul in his debut campaign with the Reds did not surprise him and feels his lightning pace has helped him to take the English League by storm.

"The game is more about the counter-attack and the ball moves from one end of the pitch to the other very quickly," he explained.

"This is perfectly suited for Fernando because he is quick and can speed things up at the attacking end of the field.

"Stevie (Gerrard) and Fernando are working well together because Fernando has the pace to read Stevie's passes. Equally, Stevie knows that if he tries to make a through ball Fernando will have the speed to run on to it and create a chance."
