You can register and buy a piece of the moon, acre by acre apparantly

its the same as the one where you can name a star. all you own is a certificate saying you own that piece of moon, or have named that star, you have no legal recourse to the real estate. a treaty was made at the very beginning of the space age that no one person or state would be able to claim any part of space for his or their self.
