which piece of music makes you cry when you hear it? come on, lets be men (or women) and stand up and admit it, we'll have a group hug and we'll all ball our eyes out together.

for me Closing by Philip Glass will set me off without any kind of provocation. i could be having the happiest day of my life but when the piano bit comes in at about a minute and a half i'll be swallowing back the tears in an instant.

Closing

there's another one that will get me going if i'm feeling a bit melancholic already, and that's Beautiful Boys by Coco Rosie

beautiful boys

i can hardly see the screen now for the tears streaming down my face. my keyboard is fizzing and popping from the litres of salty water cascading into it. and my son is looking at me funny.

'You'll Never Walk Alone' sang by a choir of 40,000 in a football ground in Liverpool.

Celine Dion whenever she sings it brings tears to my eyes but not in a good way

Gorecki Symphony No. 3

Kanye West - Roses

The song is all about his Grandma in hospital seriously ill. Was out the same time my Grandad died of cancer, not so much a tearjerker but hard to listen to because of the memories it invokes.

I heard that

Puff Daddy's " I be missing you" came out around the same  when my father fell to a brain tumour.

Even fourteen years later, that song invokes strong memories for me

Elton John - Candle in the wind

The version he did for Dianas funeral and the thought of her death always brings me to tears - I had fooking tickets for that Liverpool Newcastle match that got postponed.
