Maybe then I might be willing to listen, but personally I don't believe a word he says.

Spot on, S@int.

And apparently, one of the signings Rafa missed out on was Alves for 12m. The contract was there ready to be signed and a done deal, but from what I heard, Coco tore it up. Now what's he estimated going for again? 27 or there abouts?

find that one hard to believe considering the money that Chelsea offered him last summer that Sevilla rejected, but I don't doubt that he has probably been a major hindrance in several of our potential signings over the years

I 100% disagree with this point.  That is all.

   yeah its the owners fault for everything, lets blame them for things that happened before they even took over as well that are still ongoing.

bob get your own opinion rather than following the masses and you might get some respect, or at least go to a game

this is exactly the same as last time, fans having a go at the owner to detract from the managers failings (although people are very quiet at the moment about rafa, he has played a settled side and its has showed, just like he did last year and the year before and will no doubt do again next season when we are out of the title race), in fact the anti rotationers have every right to start spouting facts and figures here to show how the settled side has been performing as opposed to the unsettled sides he put out earlier.

so lets hope he buys out gillet and gets rid of parry then things can settle down and then we can see what hicks is all about when the excuses have been removed

You're f*cking clueless, fella!

likewise obviously

and if Hicks is half as sly and cunning of a lying :censored: as most people are giving him credit for, surely he will have "researchers" out there trying to find out the pulse of the fanbase in reaction to his comments, surely that is the only reason why he gave them.  I would say that S@ints seem to be more or less the general consensous, which is yea you might have said some nice stuff, but I don't give a toss because I still hate you and don't trust a word you say, get out now. In which case now he knows he has to either take some kind of ACTION that could only ring positive, breaking ground doesn't really seem possible because surely that cannot happen until everything else at the club is settled.  He can't fire Parry, 1) he needs GG's approval, and 2) most fans would see it as a "power move" not a move to get rid of an inept executive.  He also seems fairly powerless to do much else, with Parry (and GG) still around I can't see him being able to offer Rafa much of, if any kind of extension, because the more power rafa has, the less Parry has, I also think that any kind of transfer fund increase or debt payoff would have to be a joint venture from the 50-50 owners, it also seems that neither owner wants to sell to the other or wants the other to sell to a third party.

I also don't know how valid the whole DIC will buy at the end of May after Hicks has run out of time on his veto clause or whatever idea is.  Seems that DIC would only want a controlling interest, and if Hicks doesn't want to sell, DIC would not be interested

I think you're right Joe, but I think Hicks is just trying to win popular support to put pressure on Gillett and the board to sack Parry, take over the boardroom, then take over Gilletts half by bringing in outside investors. Once he has control he can do what he wants and we can all go to hell.

Then he will float his sports company with Lfc as the jewell in the crown, make loads of money while retaining control and maybe then he will build our stadium ,or maybe not?

Parry needs to go but not before Hicks has left. Don't let this this tool get his way with us.

I have earlier had respect for Peewee but not anymore. Anyone that wants to destroy our club can :censored: off and that is what you are doing at the moment.

getting rid of a CEO that many of us has said for years is useless is damaging or ruining the club. How?

Looking at a new manager when it appeared rafa may be off is ruining the club. How?

sorry mate i dont buy into all the anti hicks hype, i would rather see both sides and give the guy a chance then decide. its amazing when rafa messes up he gets defended

You've said that there are bigger issues at the club than the owners.  That is absolutely, unequivocally bollox.  How can there be any bigger problem facing the club than a civil war in the boardroom played out weekly in the press?  If you think Rafa's team selections are a bigger concern than you really do need your head checking.  And, I love this "get your own opinion" critique, as if being unique is more important than being right.  You must really love the attention, mate, to want to continue looking like a muppet just so you can say you didn't follow the crowd.  :kungfu:

You have to admit he/they have been lying to us mate, no debt on the club etc etc.

Then he/they were all over Parry and Rafa could go to the dogs. Parry was put in charge of any and all transfers. Yet Hicks now says he has known Parry was a waste of space for the last 6 months?

We will start on the new stadium within 6 weeks - that was a long six weeks!

Hardly the way to build trust is it mate? I think when they took over this club they had probably more good will from the supporters than almost any new owners have ever had, to turn that goodwill around in such a short time has shown ineptitude of the highest order. Do you want people like that running our club?

thats a pretty evil plan, but the one good thing in it all I guess is that if the money grubber wants to actually make money, the club is going to need to be a success.  Also there is the trouble of he can't MAKE GG sell to anybody, and GG has said he is worried about death threats from fans not to sell to Hicks (could also just be a bluff move for more money). I think the one way Hicks could attain power would be if GG wanted to sell, and there was a clause that Hicks also had the first chance to match (which I think I have heard is in there) and he temporarily found the funds to buy the whole club, then divested 49% to other people, getting almost all of his money back that he had to borrow to buy the club, nearly instantly, and then surely he would sack parry, and hopefully further invest in the stadia, but as you say, who knows

that sounds good and all, but what has the greater impact on the teams record for this season? surely, especially when you only consider the remainder, it is Rafa's team selection. Our players seem good at blocking it out if it is a problem for them (evidence on our run of form despite contiunously making noise)

Certainly the issue of the owners has a much bigger impact on the close season as well as the long term state of the club, but at the same time, that means that it has a longer period to be discussed over, its not AS pressing because whether it gets solved tomorrow or the day before the close season starts, it isn't going to have much of a difference. Where as on the other hand, everyone knows that our wins and losses are determined by how much Rafa rotates  :D

Far too short-sighted a viewpoint, for me, Joe.  In the grand scheme of things, if Rafa screws up and rotates us out of contention he can be replaced and the club moves on.  If, however, Hicks screws up the whole fate of the club is jeopardized: massive debt, no new stadium, no new players, an owner that is prepared to siphon off proceeds to fund his other franchises, Liverpool's reputation and traditions cast aside without a second thought, and so on.  There can be no bigger problem facing our club at the moment than the civil war playing out in the boardroom and there can be no more important task than ousting Tom Hicks.  Everything else must take a backseat.  Only someone that hates Rafa beyond all sense of reason could fail to see that.

Every time some tw@t sells our club it is money going outside and not benefiting the club.

Moores sold to G&H,  Moores made money.
G sells to DIC, G makes money and DIC have to pay a premium to buy-in, reducing their investment potential to put into the club.
G&H / DIC float the club, money goes to the shareholders, and only into the club if it is built into the share price on floatation.

We get passed round like a friggin´ barbie doll and hope that buyers will be decent with us.

I dont see that as a credible future for our club and thats where Moores screwed up.

I thought that I did mention the long term implications are clearly greater at the boardroom level.

AND I was really just trying to point out that the pace of the boardroom level movement is much slower and much less urgent BECAUSE it has such a massive longer term impact on the club.  While there were a lot of interesting things said today, its nothing we haven't heard before in a way, and no actions are actually taking place.
