Woof, the show has flashbacks yer?
Well in the finale of Season 3, it showed you Jack washed up with a beard, with both a drug and alcohol addiction. You started to think, what made him like this? What could have happened so bad before he went to the island that he was once like this?
The end of the episode, he got on the phone to somebody he'd been trying to get in touch with the whole episode. They meet at an airport.
It was Kate. Jack told Kate he was sick of lying (about what we don't know yet), that they should have never left the island and they have to go back!!! Whatever is troubling Jack so much has turned him into a wreck of a human being.
What you had been watching all along through the episode was a FLASH FORWARD!!! So you know that Jack and Kate at least finally leave the island. It doesn't suit Jack though. He has spent every minute on the island trying to get back home that when he gets home, he can do nothing but think of getting back there. Kate said that they are not meant to go back.
The concept of Lost was that the 'present' was the island time and it showed you flashbacks in the 'past'.
Now the element of the 'future' has appeared and the producers know wher they are going with the story. There are 47 episodes left to show spanning three series of 16 episodes each. The producers know where they are going and personally, I'll be with it every step of the way.
We are going to see what happened to certain people after they left the island, as not everybody made it off. Some of those who did make it back home are happy, others not so, and there are certain newly introduced parties who want to know if 'they' are still alive.
Who are 'they'?
Loads of questions still to be answered... Best show on TV for me.
