The media they ruin peoples lives, they killed Lady Di, have convicted the McCanns of murdering their daughter the list goes on and on. They stoop at nothing and dont care about peoples feeling just to earn money by selling newspapers and get SKY subscriptions.

Front page of the NOTW this morning Pennants dad injecting heroine, can someone explain to me why this should be front page news or even be in the news atall? I know loads of heroine addicts who are also fathers are they in the news? NO, so whats the big deal?

Because he's a Liverpool player with a shady past so lets rub more salt in the wounds of the lad who has turned his life around and have another dig at LFC in the process all this article has done is let Pennant get "Your dads a smackhead" songs sang at him from now on from the bitters and mancs, its not like we dont have enough fuckin sh!te sang at our players as it is is it?

Nanny said in the other topic Liverpool used to be in the news for footballing reasons my mum says this aswell which is true to a certain extent but we must not forget about that rag the day after Hillsborough scousers robbed the dead and urinated on them.

No they didnt scousers checked the pockets of the victims to see if they had identity on them, urinated on the dead no wrong way around when someone dies their body fliuds are released but lets not let the FACTS get in the way of making a few bob from telling lies hey.

Its gone on for years Fowlers sister on heroine, Carragher in booze shame with strippers on that night out, Gerrards mrs in cocaine shame, Crouchs girl had to leave the world cup because they printed the same thing Abbey on coke sex romp shame for two days with a builder. Gerros wife bottles female in chinese resturant.

The list goes on and on.

Which brings me to our currant situation which is clearly effecting our team, our results, our manager, the club, the fans.

I dont know what the media are like in Spain I guess they have Red Tops there that also print lies are they as bad as the British media I dont really think so.

Rafa was very naive with his outburst post Athens I suppose he was upset at the time walking the streets all night with no where to sleep and worried about the money he would have to spent last summer I will forgive him for that, have the owners though?

The past few months has seen the club in utter turmoil all our dirty washing being aired in public, with an arguement between Hicks and Rafa being played in public.

Ultimatley the media played a massive part in how this all began, Rafa saying 25 times Im concentrating on coaching my team, and wearing the trackie at Newcastle, if they get a sniff that all is not well at the club they wont leave it alone because if they print something wrong they twist and turn it that makes it look like they wernt lying.

Like Klinnsman said he was not even approached by Liverpool or any english club for that matter, yet the past month the media would have you believe and convinced he was going to be our new manager without a doubt.

Rafa's big mistake was his outburst a few weeks ago did he think they where his friends? The vultures started circling then now they are feeding off his and the clubs carcass.

Some of our own in the media havent helped this situation either as it was Bascombe that broke the news in the first place.

But enoughs enough now, the owners have been quiet for long enough its time for them to come out and dissmiss all this rubbish we cannot have this saga continuing till May.

They need the CL money next season but if this goes on we will not be in it next season if the poor results continue.

We have been judged by the media, they have also been the jury on what new manager may come in or Rafa to stay.
But ultimatley they will be the executioner of Rafa Benitez.

It's a sad situation I know Lynds but their is nothing we can do about it, I as well as many Liverpool fans and scouser don't buy the Sun and scowl at anyone readying it, if I find a 'red' reading it I giving them a mouth full. :angry:

Good post.

I think we, as the fans and posters on this forum, are to blame for a lot of the problems. Because, ultimately, we are the ones that often buy into the :censored:

that the media throws at us giving them more justifiability to continue to keep spewing as they please. And I will admit that I have often been lured into the interesting glare that rumours often leak out, however it has not been to the benefit of the club. If we really objectively analyse the majority of the rumours and stories that the media have translated to the public, the vast majority of the claims have been refuted by Liverpool FC. We as fans and supporters of this club need to continue to make sure that we support our club. It is fine and dandy to objectively analyse, criticize, argue and discuss everything Liverpool FC related but when we take rumours and run with them it creates this chaos. As I said before, we need to step back and remember what it really means to be a fan. Let's all take a deep breath and relax mates.

I know it sounds barbaric but the editors and people who write these stories should be hunted down adn targeted in their own home. Its the only way to get through to them. Surley someone must know where half these clowns live.

Imagine catching one of these editors in his home giving the janitor at their editorial building a blowj0b? Now wouldn't that be some front page news. A little 'situation' in the newsroom eh?

Mate all you need to do is catch one of these muppets, hold him down to the ground and get a bender to stick his :censored:

in his mouth, take a picture and bingo - no more hassle from reporter 'A' or the picture gets sent to whoever.

I know its a childish thing to do but its too infuriating to sit down and take without wanting to retaliate.

there has never been any news following after that
i maybe that naive, but who can make sure which gossip is reasonably reliable at this stage?

Absolutely.

You could maybe add in there the owner's continued support for Rafa and their talks with Parry over the new stadium that, according to Parry and not his pal or friend or some guy who saw him in the toilet at the local diner the other week, that the talks went well and things are proceeding along well.

Otherwise everything else is just rumour and should be taken for that.

Has any manager in England ever come out in public to give the media themevles a good bashing? Perhaps this is what is needed. Im sure if one manager done so all the rest would agree and show support in that sense. Its that same hounding by the media which messed things up with Sven ect... Ok im not saying he was a great manager but you cant expect to be in the guys private life and then say to hime "come on mate win us the world cup".

Do you know what id do now though after this latest eposode of trash if i was Rafa and any of the players id veto giving any sort of interview now to press or telly on anything even pre and post match interviews, not give them a sniff of anything.

The drunk down the road done it to one telly station and hes still carrying it on hes banned them from the training ground we should do the same

Ok no news and they might make stories up but at least well know its not true

The Spanish media would publish 2 pages should the father of Pennant was surprised with 2 young women with few clothes, or if he had a new romance. That's not football neither, but it's a different level of crápness. YOu have to show some respect to people that's ill and a family who's living a drama.

So far, they haven't reached that sewer-low levels of lack of decency in the journalism. They're cráp, but have some limits.

What that rag has done with the mere purpose of harming Pennant and our club, for just morbid reasons, is very very very low ethically, IMHO.
