I've just bought the game "Oblivion" mainly because it also contains the two extensions "Knights of Nine" and "Shivering Isles" plus it was only £20 .

I don't usually play RPG's but on the walk through this looked pretty good. Can anyone recommend best race and class for a novice ? I've started as Imperial/Agent but was considering Khajiit/Assassin. Do the various races/classes that you chose make a significant difference to to game experience ?.

Yes mate, makes a huge difference. Great game Woof, I really hope you like it. Better being an imperial warrior first time through. Gives you time to hack and slash while you are picking up the idea of how to use magic. Agents are cr@p btw, you're no good at fighting and no good at magic(all you are good for is creeping around )

Get yourself a big sword, the best armour you can and start swinging that weapon!

PS join the magi's guild and the fighters guild, and make sure you murder someone along the way as well. (you will find out why :)  )

Sorry to change the subject guys, got COD4 on Wednesday but didn't get change to hammer it until this weekend, man what a game!!! I'm even enjoying the career mode (which I never do on games), played career mode for about 5 hours straight yesterday, even on normal mode it's testing.

Multiplayer is awesome and back to the good ol' COD2 days where it was enjoyable to play online.

Infinity Ward have also put a lot of new features into the game, the main one are unlocking new weapons and 'perks' when you rank up online.

I have to give this game 9.5 because every aspect of the game is amazing, it's a better game than Halo 3 imo for pure gameplay, it's soooo intense at time :;):

Cheers Saint , The kings just died and now I'm supposed to go through some sewers. Reading a review of the game I think round about now I get a chance to change my choice of class ? so maybe I'll ditch the "agent" choice and go for something a little more fiesty.

:D

All this talk of Oblivion, and I just started it for the first time. Played it to the point where you've to bring Martin to the Blades fort up in the mountains. Picked Warrior class too. It's got a sh*t load of depth to it, doesn't it.

Still chipping away at Mario and COD4. The Chernobyl level is something else. Very nice touch adding the faint sounds of children playing and laughing when you enter the abandoned school. It really brings a sad note of what really happened there and was so different to anything I've experienced in a game before.

I am playing MOH Airbourne, Cod 4, Crysis and my old favourite Far Cry at the moment. I haven't got very far with the first 3 yet.

While Oblivion is a great game, and I would recommend it to anyone, for me anyway its not as good as Morrowind (Elder scrolls 3). Morrowind was a much darker game and not as easy to get into, but had a much greater depth to it and really drew you into the game. Certainly if you like Oblivion Woof I would try Morrowind next. (I don't think its out on x-box 360 Emerald Red)

When I first played Morrowind for an hour I thought it was probably the worst game I had ever played......... after 3 hours I thought it was(and still think) the best game I have ever played.

Oblivion is one of my favourite games ever. I finished all the missions: main campaign, fighters guild, arena, mages guild, Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild as well as countless others and have started Shivering Isles. My game time is 125 hours and I reckon there is at least another 20 or 30 hours of gameplay in it.

Classic game.

I'm playing that now. I think there's some sort of update thing on the disc because when I first put it in the first time, it went to a screen with a bar at the bottom. Don't know what that was for, though.

Anyway, the game is class. If you grew up playing these sort of games as I did, it will take you way back to Mario 64 and beyond it. If anything, it reminds of of all the old NES and SNES classics.

I've watched the HD review of Mario Galaxy and I don't really like the look of it, I always loved side scrolling platform games and you can't beat Mario All Stars on the SNES (I still play it) but these 3D ones don't do it for me, I think I'll stick with New Super Mario Bros on the DS  :;):
