Ahhh, upon further research it is the British public's musical taste that was the problem at the time of my birth.  Over in North America, we had actually had a little style! :D

Parlephone, Decca, Pye, Fontana, RCA, you name 'em Judge, I had 'em.

SS has just mentioned the Shadows ,grew up listening to them, Apache, Kon Tiki, Guitar Tango and the Rise and Fall of Flingle Bunt.
