Having discovered that the recent and only signing brought in by the new regime is a defender -while the gaffer indicated that there will be only one or two newcomers, most fans assumed that the next one would be a midfielder. If he's meant to be one of the regular line-ups, then, in your opinion, who out of the lists should be replaced? (assume that he could play in any position in midfield and the list above were the current Rafa's main choice for the main squad)

if it was to be one i would say Murphy, i would play Hamann and Gerrard in the Centre with this mystery man on the right wing, and Kewell on the left.

Ideally we would get two midfielders a CM, and a RM, but i think the right is the no1 area of concern, we need width and playing guys like Diouf (not a rm) or a central midfielder in Murphy isn't gonna solve the problem.

i would get a right winger in and play gerrard and murphy in the centre. with all respect to hamann his best days are behind him and his lack of pace really shows. murphy gives us the incisive final pass that we so often lack. SWP, pennant, joaquin or MALBRANQUE whos my first choice

ballack or rosicky would be nice with stevie though

I like Pennant, I think the lad looked really lively for Leeds last season and I think we could pick him up for peanuts from Arsenal :;):

Obviously the right is a cause for concern with no real pace there, but Joaquin would be very nice there but is too expensive and last season I was thinking why not buy Pennant he's skilful has a lot pace and turned Chelski's defence inside out last season if anyone remembers? Apart from his big ego and the fact he has a bad attitude, but maybe if he was palying in a side like ours he wouldn't be stepping out of line..who knows?

With Diouf not featuring in Beni's plans, who is suppose to be the cover up for the right wing?

Danny Murphy is not pacy enough
Smicer is injured
Patridge?

There's gotta be someone coming in to fill up. WHO?!

Deadline is only for our 3rd leg qualifiers... you get to reselect your eligable players for the next round (group stage) as long as they havent played for another team in the qualifiers eg. Real, Manure etc. Dont think deadline is Monday anyway.. teams still finalising squads and have 10 days till match!!

Ive said this many times, I dont rate Danny Murphy one bit, he's not really consistent performance wise, over a season. i dont care how many goals he ends up with each season. He lacks penatration, and the ability to put other teams under pressure, gets disposssed easily and bottles out of challenges. thats what I saw watching LFC from the centenery stand last season, unless my eyes decieved me.

On the other hand, Hamann plays negatively as soon as he gets the ball he looks to pass it back, time and again. Short little useless 10 yard passes, when theres 20 yards in front of him to exploit. I dont think his kind of play suits the way LFC need to be playing. It wasnt just Houlliers instruction either, cause he plays like that for germany.

Even Stevie wonder can see that the midfield is the main area we need to strengthen, as thats where you build your attacks.
How many times last season, was it left to Steven Gerrard to create something out of nothing? I lost count.

I dont think we are that bad defensively, or in attack. the problem is the link between the two, surging runs, bombing it down the wing, putting the strikers in on goal.

and nothing i can see from Hamann and Murphy, suggest they have what it takes.

So thats TWO midfielders needed at least.

Oh yes, Smicer injured for 6 months is a bonus not a hindrance

hustler no-one's listening.
go away. go and swallow some steroids.
its not the chilli sauce on kebabs that give you ring-sting, its the actual meat. had one without chilli, and still had ring-sting. the chilli's only there to mask the nonsense they stuff inside that bread.
